The inlet diameter is too small on the muffler (2.17") so i was wondering if an exhaust could correct it to 2.5" or even 3"?

I am sure they can but don't really see the point. With such a small inlet it is likely to have relatively restricted internal flow as well.

You'd be better off finding a rear muffler that is the correct size for your existing piping. Try the SAU classifieds, Firesport, Hardtuned, Gumtree or do another search on Ebay and I'm sure you'll find one that fits.

Thanks.

For that price its really not worth the effort.

As mentioned above, you would be better off buying the correct sized muffler for your application, locally.

i got a 2.5" oval muffler from my local exhaust shop for $120 including fitting.

as for getting the muffler altered, yes they could flare out the pipe to make it bigger, but i bet the internal diameter is still only about 2" so it would be a restriction. a stock muffler would probably flow better
