Was anyone lapping close to the winfield R32s at all?

Curious to see how well their tech stands up to today's. I don't think anyone else had a fully stripped GTR or equivalent out there though?

Well RH9 does make more power than the Winfield GTR, but i dont think the Winfield driver was giving it his 100% hardest crack.

From the SAU-SA Executives, we would like to extend a big "thank you" to all those who got involved in the Skyline Nationals on the weekend. It was, in our opinion, a raving success and we were glad to set the benchmark for the next SkyNats in 2 years time. SAU-SA received an Award for our contributions to the Skyline Nationals 2010, and it wouldn't have happened without our club members, and the general SAU forum population.

Thanks to all the SAU-SA members who entered into the show and shine and enjoyed themselves. Thanks also to those who helped with our stand, talking to the public, and signing up new members.

A big thanks to those who volunteered their time to marshall at the Mallala Sprint on the Sunday. Our assistance was greatly appreciated by CSA and CAMS. These people were Andrew, Aberax, Tim, Reuben and Damo. Martin and Shane were also on hand on the Saturday to assist with judging the show and shine.

A special thanks also goes to Matty and Ruby.

Matty T had been liaising with CSA as the SAU-SA representative for well over the past 12 months. Matty T was a big help in getting a strong relationship happening between CSA and SAU-SA, and following thru with correspondence every step of the way.

Ruby is thanked for his involvement on track all day. Ruby is SAU-SA's own CAMS licenced official, and has spent nearly a decade around race tracks. Ruby did some awesome work too preparing the track/equipment first thing in the morning with the Clerk of Course (Tim), and his answers to many questions by members was valuable.

Congratulations to the various SAU-SA members and SAU forum members who were presented with awards for their respective categories in the show and shine, and sprint events.

To all who supported, either by posting in the forum, coming to watch, or getting involved at any level on the weekend, the SAU-SA Executives would like to say thanks.

had an awesome day sunday... big thanks to the organisers for the event... thanks to chad for those wicked pics....thanks to Brian Munro and a couple of other guys putting me at ease while i was standing in line with my paperwork nervous as shit.... that was my first ever track day.... had a ball... shat myself at 165km/h when the arse end stepped out on the kink.... if anyone got pics of me getting tail happy (gunmetal grey 31 with blacked out lights), i'd love to see them :P

+1 thanks to all those involved in organising the day. Great to see such a variety of degrees of hardcore, from bunky daily to insane supercars.

And for me nothing broken + no trips into the kitty litter = WIN! Looking forward to the times, the ones that were put up on the board on the day had me cracking 3 seconds better than my PB! - I'll take it but I'm a bit suspicious :D

Thanks so much for all the feedback, and guys, SAU-SA Exec is not kidding when he says this track day would not have happened without you.

Matty T was unwavering in his commitment to this event, and he deserves a huge pat on the back. I doubt there is anyone more passionate than Matty about his Skylines.

I hope it's OK, that I post this reply up in the CSA Forums as well, because it is fantastic to receive feedback like this.

Wakefield Park is AASA Run, and we will actually be having Adam and his boys run and time that event for us. We have used them before, and everything runs easier when someone with years of experience handles the event. Perhaps we can have our timing there as well, and see what we can learn.

It was our pleasure to be able to run such a successful event that included such a wide variety of Skylines, and in all honesty. this truly was the best Skyline Nationals event we have had out of the 3. To be able to get so many models there, thanks to you guys, was sensational.

Shane, let me personally apologise for everything that could go wrong, going wrong with your entry. It's gotta happen to someone though, might as well be you :thumbsup:.

Don't know how many of you guys knew, that that was my first ever drive of the DR30 on the weekend, so I was left pretty much speechless after my drive. The car blew a gearbox at Lakeide a few weeks ago, so she was running with a standard DR30 Gearbox at Eastern Creek weekend before last, and at Eastern Creek we discovered a catch can full of oil, so the engine is very tired. I had to be kind to her, not just because of this, but because of the gearbox being a standard one as well. This all sounds very dramatic, but the gearbox and the engine have not been looked at since she ran Bathurst in 1987, so that is a sterling effort, as this was her third outing under my ownership.

I had a ball for the whole weekend, wish I had of had more time to soicalise. Bring on Goulburn 2012.

thanks cazz, i knew that this event was just as much a "bread and butter" event for SAU as it was for CSA, thats why i wanted to see some co-involvement. now that you know that SAU:SA isnt like SAU:VIC (phew) things work alright :devil:

Im sure i can be the first to say im already doing some arm twisting to make sure theres and SAU:SA presence at 2012 Skyline Nationals

Well done to everyone involved in organizing this event. A truly mammoth task.

You will never keep everyone happy at events like this, (in fact some looked quite ill at Macca's Monday morning :D) but it went off pretty well overall.

How could you not love the old touring cars. Brilliant

now just weighing up costs of rebuilding my motor... kinda has blow by issues, resulting in my airbox half filling with oil... through my afm!! wtf??

well worth it though... my missus was expecting me to completely break my car... not just lean on it a little too much :geek:

yeah i got a TODO list thats $25k long (conservatively)

We all got our vices tho heh

Thats the sort of 31 mad max would drive
