shift knob from auto soarer?

well i hate the stock auto r32 shift knob, yet i really like the shift knob from the auto soarer...

so i set out to search for something like this in the aftermarket world and hit a brick wall when all the good ones are >$200... i don't think so!

so my question is:

do you think it would be possible to put a soarer auto shift knob onto the r32 auto box? surely can't be hard as they are both o/d-button equipped, and if aftermarket knobs fit both, then these should be able to fit eachother, right?

also, are they leather/plastic? if it were plastic i would want to spray it or if leather i could get it done in black leather to match my interior...

what do people think of this idea?
