Hey guys, glad to become a new member of skylines australia. I have a S14 with a RB25DET series II motor. I have alot of questions about the Apexi Power FC. My mods pertaining to the Power FC are: 90mm Q45 throttle body, 90mm Ford Lightning MAF, and 740cc Tomei injectors. I saw paulR33's FAQ post and figured the values for the injectors would be as follows: 370cc/740cc = .5 * 100 = 50% and

0.66ms - 0.53ms = 0.13ms. Would these be the correct values for the injectors? Also, would I use 90mm Q45 setting for the MAF or would I need to go under options and select a voltage? I have a Ford Lightning 90mm MAF and I am currently using the setting for the 90mm Q45 MAF. Before I bought the Power FC, I was using a Jim Wolf Technology reflash as my tune. This tune required me to set my timing on the Cam Angle Sensor to 20 degrees BTDC (before top dead center). Do I need to set anything in the Power FC to correspond to this or do I need to change the timing on the CAS? I also have a Apexi SAFC installed along with the Power FC. Do I need to unhook the SAFC, in order for the Power FC to operate properly? I checked pin #58 with a test light and it is ok. I also disabled the optional boost feature on the Power FC. When I try and start the car, it tries to start but stumbles after 2-3 seconds. All I want to be able to do is get the car to crank so it can self learn the idle. After that I am going to Balanced Performance in Sugar Hill, GA to have it tuned. Anyone ever heard of them by the way? The car was running fine with the Jim Wolf Technology reflash tune. When I disconnect the Power Fc and re-install the Jim Wolf ECU it cranks right up. Please guys help me out with this. I know it is probably something simple. I called Apexi and they said that using both the SAFC and Power FC should be ok, but that I would not need the SAFC because the Power FC does everything it does and more. Anyways, I cannot think of anything else to tell you about my problem, so thanks in advance for any advice it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chad

    • Apologies, while id like to put the MAF as close to the TB and relocate the recirc, this may be too much work. Will most likely end up just putting it on the original AFM spot ( onto/next to the airbox ).  Was going through nistune, found a pretty nifty doc on this. Nistune MAF Notes. Also, i was looking through the bay, and there seems to be a tube/line connected from the A/C to the intercooler piping ( Between the smic and the recirc), what does this do as the crossover fmic piping doesnt have any connection? plumbing? not sure what you call it but the nipple thing ahah.  Also, been reading up more about crossover fmic in regards to the legality of having the hole drilled for the piping, this would most likely need to be engineered right?
    • My advice is if you need a big build done do it in Japan. The yen rate is so favorable and there are shops that can be genuinely trusted and not micromanaged/carefully monitored every step of the way. Garage Yoshida is obviously my preferred option but they're so busy these days and all interaction with new customers has to be mediated through BBL/Toprank now.
    • I haven't....but a poorly made one would terrify me. Surely a good second hand one is the go, as they don't work hard and no-one wants to keep one after they are finished with it A big consideration would be the weight of the shell you are putting on it....is it a fully dressed chassis or just the body
    • Not stock. All remade. Mostly looks stock because the pipes run to and from the standard holes in the inner guard to get to the return flow FMIC. I'm not sure which question you're trying to ask, because it seems like "stock position" vs "stock position".
    • Hey, it's a GT-R, it's just as significant a moment as mine😁 It's not ideal when things are uncertain; I'm the type of person that always has a set plan for things in life so being unsure of this plan puts me in a weird place mentally.
