Headunit Not Working

just got an r33 few weeks ago

bought it assuming the headunit was not working

finally after pulling out the headunit

and testing headunit (it works fine)

its still not working in my car

ive checked the dash and boot fuse (all good)

is there anything else i should check

also my cigarette lighter isnt working

worst come 2 worse and wiring is gone bad

what should i do

do fresh wiring? and are there any short cuts

or do i need to run a wire (normal speaker wire ok?) to the battery in the boot (and how would i connect this to the boot)

run a wire to the dash fuse (acc)

and ground the ground wire somewhere

rewiring at this stage doesnt seem hard but if i had to main question would be

are there any shortcuts to the power wire at the boot?

and if not best way 2 connect to boot (cant crimp)

check ALL of the fuses. from memory there is one in the boot and one at your knee for the radio. does the clock work?

have checked both fuses

clock works fine

ended up rewiring through crimping

had the same prob with my 33 headunit not working and either are the accessories in the boot pulled out the deck reconnected the wires then everything started working except no power on the screen it still remained black put was powering up making the little noise when you turn on the car and was ejecting

could anyone possibly shed some light on this?
