Its probably a late series 1 with series 2 coilpacks..i dont think series 2 came out until early 96. But it does elimanate ignitors as they will be built into the coilpack.. you can check though by seeing if it has a box at the back of the coilpack cover. Maybe start with checking your spark plugs and gapping them down to 0.8mm or less, just grap some copper NGK BCPR6ES

My friend also has yellow jackets and still gets misses, i still would recommend swapping them with someone that has working coilpacks to eliminate them as a suspect

Don't blame me if im wrong but just speculating

Wind up boost + stock ecu = miss

This is due to =

air fuel ratio for stock ecu (7 psi or whatever), being different to 11psi needs.

Best place to go is a tuner. Yellow jackets are know for being not very efficient but I place my money on the ecu.

Have you tried resetting the ecu?

its more airflow dependant, some ecu's+afms seem to cope upto 14psi and over, while others fall off the edge of the map and hit a boost cut.

Do you getting a faint popping sound from the exhaust whilst its missing or does it feell more like your hitting a bit of a wall and falling off boost??

Hello,

i was wondering if anyone could help me? i have just put the boost up on my skyline and it has start to miss a bit top end, i have got new coil packs, anyone got any idea's???

a mate had a similer problem with his s13, it was popping really badly everytime he put the foot down and started to hit boost. after changing a few things, he changed his fuel pump to a 040 and the problem was gone.

another problem was in my car, r32 and it did it everytime it fit full boost at 10psi. changed my spark plug and the problem was gone.
