Hey everyone,

New to the forum, and one thing i wanted some help on was what to get out of:

- 180sx

- 200sx

- r33 gtst

- r32

I know that the 180 and 200 aren't as fast as the skylines, however i don't really want anything too fast because i wont be able to have fun with it without being scared shitless.

whatever i buy, im after a completely stock one

right now im leaning towards the 180 followed by the r33

the 200's looks dont cut it, and r32's are getting a bit old

if anyone could input their opinion, that would be great

i might even put a gay dancing penis :/

what you want out of the caR?

bog stock you'd get an r33 its the newest of the cars your mentioning and better value than all those options. Most likely will give you the least headaches as well.

basically want a daily that i can have some fun on the track with. would you recommend anything else apart from what ive mentioned with a 10k budget?

and holy shit that was a quick reply, cheers for that.

since im new at this, is there some way that i can check if someones replied my posts, like notifications or something?

^^

dont listen to him he is damaged goods.

you can find good 33's and its easier than finding a good 20 year old r32 i mean try find a good vn commo.. just gotta look around but since the 33s are so common you'll get a good one.

...the 33s are so common...
...Holden version of a Skyline, steer clear mang

33's dont do it for me.

But as per your question, even non turbo 33's are quick enough for someone who worries about scaring themselves.. And I can guess will last longer, be more reliable, and cause you less headaches than turbo models.

cheers GTRPowa, my research told me r33's do 0 - 100 in about just under 8secs, which is as fast as my current car. im after something that can do about 6, and turbo

why dont r33's cut it for you? are you too used to the power of a gtr hence your username?

cause they look like they should have sails put on and be dropped in the water, and aren't made to handle like the other models!

oh and because they are increasingly becoming the new bogan ride of choice.

Pretty much this. Longer wheelbase than both other popular skyline models gave it a feeling that's familiar to my statesman when sideways.

And +1 on bogan ride of choice, but at the end of the day, it's what you are happy with. Friend of mine has a R33 GTS-t and he loves it, and he's definitely not a bogan.

Hope all goes well with your choice man. Pick something you like the look and the shape of, if it's an R33, so be it.

Then familiarise yourself with any common problems they have, and if you personally have the knowledge to deal with them problems when they arise. Eg, I wasn't going to build the bottom end on my 32R, but now that I know about the crank collars, it's a job on the way to happening before something catastrophic happens.

(I got away with bouncing off an 8200rpm limiter, on 18psi boost with stock R32 turbos, I was very lucky in hindsight, a past time no more.)

:)

32 = WIN! You can find cheapish, non so thrashed out cars in good nick if you wait and look around. Like my 32 when i got it, was owned by some old guy, never thrashed, always looked after and stock, What i wanted so i could do my own shiz to it. Same with my mate who got the same thing but a 33. Only upside that i prefer on the 33 is the 25 in it other than that i dont like the cheapy spec interior plastics.

cheers everyone for your input!

cookie32 - it sounds like you got an amazing find. why do you prefer 32's over 33's apart from the cheap feeling interior?

gtrpowa - are there any cars you would recommend for a budget of around 10k? cant really afford anything over that at all.

my current car is a bmw e36 325i, which handles really nicely but im just after something a bit quicker and cheaper to maintain.

They look better! haha. Nah each to their own, I prefer the look of 32's alot more than 33's. All out the mechanical is probs better being newer and all but i cant tell you my self as i dont own a 33. Comparing the 33 to my 32 i prefer the feel of the box from the 25 never really cared about anything else once i hit boost lol
