Hi as some of you may know I have brought my car over from Japan as private import.

heres the thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Hk...il-t246240.html

Anyway the car has been complied and now needs the roadworthy and heres the hurdle and where help and advice is needed...

Ok as its a new N1 block there was no engine number stamped into in Japan thus I need to get one before I can get a roadworthy certificate.

I just spoke to the Dept of transport in QLd and they have said I need to bring it to the RTA Qld to be inspected so they can issue a new engine number and then have it stamped onto the engine, somwehere they can access.

So my dilemma is does anyone know how full on will they check the car as its fairly modified , or is this just a quick gander and they see theres no engine number , issue a new number and then the onus is on me to have it to roadworthy condition.

Or is it a thorough inspection and I'm screwed and up for bucket load of coin to get it on the road.

Is there anyway around all this ??

Any help, ideas and advice would be greatly appreciated and if need be pm

Thanks in advance.
