I had a ball being my first time at DECA.

Many thanks goes to the orgnisers and volunteers to make the day goes smoothly.

And special thanks goes to Bec for getting SAU hoodies for me, they makes me really warm!

No pictures from me as I was busy understeering a 302rwkw GTR - was fun, and I learned heaps about taming the 'beast'

Will defintely enter another DECA (next one is in November?).

Cheers

Grant

Thanks to all for organising, was a great day. Froze and lost feeling in my legs at one stage while out on the back track, but it was a great spot to be, only had to move a few cones back a couple of times, and I think I managed to get pics of most of the cars on either indian file or 80% of the back track, they are just uploading now. It was great that the rain held off too!

Pity about the turn out for tea, would have been nice to have let Bec know if you were only coming for drinks & were going to be late, but we had fun anyway. Gotta love those fish bowls!

See you all next time :) Can count me in for volunteering again.

Cheers,

Anna

P.S Ill post the link to my images when they are finished uploading. I have around 150 shots and they are taking forever and it keeps crashing.

Well once again had a great day giving the stagea a run around the wangs and the skid pan.No off on the 80% this time.My driving is getting better but my sense of direction is getting worse with 3 WD on the pan so there is no chance of seeing any stats where the hearse sits on the scores.

Hamish bad luck about the seat it did not like 6.4 100kgs bad way to go out..Grant waiting for the next one all ready (November)ha ha

Thanks to all the people that help out on the day micolour for the sponsorship bec ryan timers, starters, flaggies and cone removalists and the food van man.

Awesome day, as always. I think I probably broke some PB on the wangs, but will probably get my worst overall score due to multiple WDs, and cones, but I had a blast doing it and learning the new LSD. Thanks again to all the organisers, volunteers and micolour. Sorry to the poor hat removalist girl who I sent running twice as I came spinning wildly into the gate.

Now I think I'll take a nap, Brad and I got up at 4am, stayed out till 4am and then drove back on a few hours sleep.

I also want to say a HUGE thanks to those of you who helped out on Saturday. Without you volunteering your time, the event would not have gone ahead. We really appreciate all the support.

Great time as per usual, big thanks to Ryan, Bec and all the SAU Vic team and volunteers for making it possible :D

+1 on the Taco Baz comment, it seems quite a few people weren't stoked with the service. Must be time to try a new venue I'd say.

Here's a couple of the pics Kate snapped, we didn't get a heap as it was hard to get her out of the car and into the cold :)

    • People still have Skylines? I thought they're non-existent now.
    • Harness update time have had great fun and learnt so much already so far with this project. I started off making both the ignition and injector sub harnesses in the hope any mistakes i made here aren't as hard to undo and learn from as the main harness.  A cool comparison of the old harness using presumably TXL wire and the new which is using Tezel. Also opted to use DTM plugs to keep the whole setup as neat and tidy as possible and tucked the wiring under the coil bracket to try and keep it all from sticking out too much. Although the injector harness, I'm not overly happy with as I'm still using the rubber boots that are supplied with the type of plugs it just looks ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb with the white identifiers so a slight redesign may be done.   Then it was main harness time and most importantly trying to route it nice and away from the heat it will use the OEM heater hose routing which is no longer present to keep the harness up high and secure. it's amazing how much smaller this harness is able to be compared to the old one. plugged everything into the emtron and with the help of the tuner again attempted to start it up and instantly fired up and running smoothly on all 6 which was a big shock to myself. So still some routing and adjusting to be done for the final fit up and installing a knock sensor harness plug which is in the post all has gone surprisingly well.     The old harness for shits and giggles.
    • They do that at random every now and then, with almost no detectable cause. Mine has done it a couple of times (over 25 years!!). Never worked out why.
    • I don't post on here and have been lurking for some time now. Many of the topics have helped me out more times than i can count. I was racing yesterday (11/9) and blew a front right CV shaft. I have spares so I popped a new one in. A thread i read previously said to check the engine mounts if you blow a front CV. Upon inspection, the front right mount was completely separated from the upper plate. This discovery saved me time and money, because i would have blown another CV if i went back out. Just wanted to thank you guys and wish everyone luck with with their builds. (Now if we could only come up with a solution for my power steering belt flying off after hitting the rev limiter, lol)
    • Either way he still need those style of spacer to go into the manifold because the photo he currently has is not going to work
