Oh look i watched it all and it was ok, if there wasnt some commentary I'd have fallen asleep.

I just think the game overall isn't that enthralling.

AT im now 13-7 lol, the matching system decided to pair us (we are silver) with expert diamond players 3 games in a row.

Gotta love blizzards matching system's decisions *facepalm*, not one game have they got it correct.

I've actually been reading up on how the whole system works, seems you basically have to mass more games for it to workout and doesnt inititally grade you correctly at all which kinda makes redundant the 5 "placement" matches.

I noticed that too. I remember playing with a mate who's pretty new at the game. We were placed in Bronze League and every load screen we'd be up again players with profile pictures that indicated 250+ wins etc.

I'll get the link when i get home that explains in depth the ladder system (except for the bits Blizzard doesnt want to include)

Going by that, it makes *some* sense why my mate & I matched such players, however not 4 games in a row based on the assumptions of the model that is being used.

Really? Sorry for wasting your time then, that was a very long set of videos.

I personally enjoy watching Starcraft commentaries, and thought that one was particularly entertaining.

I like watching them too... but it is all because of the commentary I guess. Couldn't be stuffed watching with the sound off.

Thanks for sharing those links though *plugs earphones into work computer*

Beat AI on Hard, got cocky and played Very Hard thinking i was awesome. I got beat in 8 minutes =~[

I don't see how they can have so many upgrades so quickly, 8 minutes and they had medivacks and siege mode. God knows what else! Little more practice and i might be on insane =p

So is it worth the $90?

I played a 7hour trial, got to mission 12 and played two 1v1's but I wiped quick in the first and tried playing zerg in the second, had no idea what I was doing but when the enemy scouted my small force they surrendered. Still not sure if $90 is good value for 14 more missions and the multi player problems you've all mentioned.

thanks

Once they patch the shit, for clans/public chat and stuff like that the online will become better.

Half the online is talking crap and stuff as much as the game itself haha.

We have a few of us getting semi-competitive with the game. <10 of us, all silver league or higher. Gets rough when LANs happen hahah

lol im plati or gold... i suspect i'll be in plati before long with my other teams as we are 23-10 or whatever in 2v2.

The matching system is a bit silly. Same as bnet 1 - all about game massing. Heaps of plati teams are 50-50, and shit. We wipe the floor 75% of the time and were placed in silver to start, ended in gold like 10 games later.

So id guess 2-3 more games plati and diamond wont be far away, maybe another 20-25 wins.

Oh and you can abuse the ladder just like you did in WC3 bnet 1.0

As your 5 "placement" matches basically pit you against RT players, if you get 5 mates together you can AT over 100 games basically matching useless players each match.

Soon as you get to 5 matches, just swap out for someone else and rotate. 10 people would make it ridiculous.

Rather sad and typical of Blizzard to implement such a system that is WORSE than the old one :(

Its fun playing with friends, but IMO 1v1 is where its at. It's a completely different game and comes down much more to micro and countering your opponents build. In a 1v1 even if they have the larger force using the high ground, base defenses and certain abilities you can hold off a superior force. Whereas team games seem to be more about massing your forces then overwhelming one single base.

yeh i like 1v1 and 2v2.. nismoid u take it too serious i dont even understand what your talkin about hahaha!

just got into 'silver' league but thats cos i suck my mate is pretty good but yeh.. im gettin there.

I just get into whatever game i play, and i like to understand how it all works.

I find enjoyment in the mechanics of a game and not just the actual 'playing' of it (which is also good of course hehe)

Should be plati for all leagues shortly... 8 straight today put me to the top of gold

There are also some great custom game maps starting to appear now as well :P

    • 1. Factory knock sensors for now, honestly the RB26 OEM knock sensors seem ok as they're flat response instead of resonant type but they appear to be internally grounded to the block. If I do replace the sensor it would just be to get ones that are not internally grounded so a differential input can be used to reject common mode noise. Definitely plan on fixing this as a part of the tuning process. 2. Never deliberately induced knock, though I guess I could try that experiment if I really wanted to. 3. All of this is basically on a stock engine + ECU, only modification is HKS GTIII-SS turbos and a Nismo plenum. Currently I run it with the wastegate solenoid unplugged so it won't try to raise boost past wastegate pressure.
