top weekend! great to catch up with you NSWer's and meet a few new faces too. as well as some old ones - think its been longer since I saw Noel than you blokes! I don't know if Noddy had anything to do with it, or if it was just luck that most of us ended up in the same group on the track... funny that all weekend we were getting in trouble for talking sh1t in the marshalling area when we should have been moving up to pit exit.

glad you southerners liked the track. It was my first time there since 2004 in a ~100rwkw Datsun 1200, so it was a bit of a learning experience for me too. Must say the new higher speed section is a welcome addition! Loved it. I think I might do the series there next year.

buggered if I can find those results Bill mentioned on mylaps... anyone had more luck than me?

Congrats to Stuart and Callum on their awesome results, and Dunc and Chris on their times. Nice driving all round fellas! Shame about your car Noddy. Get yourself some Federals mate

just working on a couple of videos now...

LOL

cheers ryan!

yeah i has a happy!!!

Cheers all, got a 90% plus run in today, 3rd run was happy with time 1.22.8 something

Maybe, the rule book is at my laps for classes all I can find is last weekends - no up to date results.

Will put some incar up next week. Duncan still can - lucky he had the camera on the right side when the left side didnt allow room for a camera.

Presentation was great, got a second in class in 2A, B F / up class and then they forgot fastest tintop trophy anyway.

Other than 1950's classes and class issues, the facilities and club ran a fantastic event - for a info note, we contacted Doreen and Michael of CAMs (our state reps of CAMs) and were promised a reply on classes for Aussie Hillclimb and Supersprints and guess what -well maybe their reponse email maybe going through mylaps

So on a quite word if you want the classes sorted for next year in Adelaide - please do as I did and waste your time but please continue to email Doreen and Michael until someone gets an answer

Was good to meet some unknowns - some still are - anyway I am sure next time I will have a bit more time and we will meet again

PS remember above lets rub it in to CAMs thats what we are paying our membership fees for and get this sorted out

Just got home, was happy to see the f3 after all the rain from Musellbrook- gosford, then the traffic 20kms north of singleton - the f3 at newcastle.

Was a really good weekend, and to get out of sydney for a few days. Good to meet a few new people. looked like everyone had fun. am keen to come up and try the track out when the car is ready (really had a hard think about moving up there with all the tracks after talking to Noddy).

i have some videos and pics will upload later when finished editing them

Hey all! I finally made it in after 10PM after Duncan and I stopped to offer assistance at a crash, and then furthe down the road performing repairs in a service station for to another persons car...

I had a great time up at the track, even if I did only get to work on peoples cars :D

To all the people I met on the weekend I was Duncan and Chris' pit crew.

well that was a great weekend away!

first up, thanks to Matt in particular for looking after the car all weekend. apart from killing the turbos by sunday afternoon, and having to do rear swaybar bushes on friday, the car was great. Also hge thanks to Mitch and Georgie for helping out too, it was a good group.

It was excellent to meet all a bunch of banana-benders including noddy, harry, callum, noel - particular thanks for noddy for having us in his town and showing us the delights of the palace hotel. but wtf was that $7.5M pedestrian underpass....can't beleive I didn't get to walk through it.

The event itself was excellent, well run with lots of lap times and very professional. My only issue, as with Stuart, was their decision not to use the CAMS supersprint classes. As a result there was no production car class for me to defend last year's title, I was in over 3l sports cars with stuart's r33, supercharged elises, and worst of all 180s and onevias! Still came 4th in class and 5th overall which I reckon was a good run in that car.

Morgan Park is an excellent track and well worth the visit - recently extended which apparently makes it a lot quicker, but most importantly it has real challenges to get the hang of - blind corners, bent straights, off camber sections, and lots of bumps. I reckon I could run there every day for a year and still be learning new things. Very similar to Oran Park in character which is about the highest compliment I can think of >_<

I'll get my vids up in the next few days too....

    • Ye, in terms of bolting up the "Conversion" from a GT to a GTT is effectively "Use GTT parts for everything" Except the subframe itself, because you won't want a HICAS/4WS subframe. Remember your ABS system will be different too, thanks to GT being the S15 3 sensor system, instead of the R34 4 sensor system for wheel speed. I do not know how people get this to work given R34 diffs do not have a provision for an ABS sensor (they are on the tone wheels of the axles). I assume***** people use S15 gear/R34NA forever when they realize this - Or they convert it to a rear diff/axles that are R33 style which I presume has the singular speed sensor on the diff itself, but then you have to wire it all in and...and... and...
    • Foreshadowing was never so easy.
    • The ones in brackets are the first stages of tightening. I usually aim for the middle of the range. They give a range because it's actually not that critical to hit exactly the right bolt tension. Enough is enough, and too much is too much, and the range given is inside that range. Half of the bolts in the suspension are problematic for putting a torque wrench on anyway, so just get done up to mechanic tight  and spanner checked a week later.
    • Is the problem that we just disconnected the line, does it need to be plugged? I’d rather not buy another master cylinder
    • Clutch is same same. Tailshaft is not. Diff will drop in. Half-shafts will not mate up (5x1 on turbo, 3x2 on NA). There is also the strong possibility that your auto NA gets its speed signal from the sensor on the diff, not the gearbag, and that will leave you without a speedo. You can do all this, you just have to do a lot more than you thought.
