Hawo!!!!

So uhhh.... i used to have a really nice looking white r34 gt-t 1998 coupe

UNTILL!

1: Sticker on right bumper stuck on from first sale in japan nissan dealer, Wouldnt come off and is now off but with scratches and touch up paint on instead (looks a different shade of white)

2: Anyone remember hail storm in melbourne with peoples car getting written off/shat on? yeah well it happend to my car but not bad enough for me to make a claim :| has small dents in the bonet some on the rear top quarter panel and roof/various places. (maybe 5 MAX that are noticeable rest are tiny)

3: Soooo one day i was washing my car with our pressure washer (hookd up to our water tank) as we do with all our cars owned/previously owned, then as im doing the bonet at the front lip just before the front bar WOOSH a tiny bit of paint comes off...... now that has come off its getting bigger and worse and more and more is coming off... and im noticing some more around the car little flacks of paint coming off completely back to metal.

Soooo at the moment im almost in tears watching my pride and joy go from awsome to just another beat up skyline.

People have any ideas on what can be done about the paint/dents? ideas... places..pricing.. anything is helpful at this stage whilst i save up $ to hopefully fix it. I am not willing to spend much more on the car so hoping it can be a cheap fix or else ill have to sell it for a hell of alot less than i brought it.

ps. the car was imported through jap cars, im guessing the temperature change in counties has caused the paint to flake off.

thanks guys :bunny:

it's not gonna be a cheap fix if you want the car to last.. should have made the claim as it is an issue now..

the dents you could try a dent doctor.. but your poaint sounds dodgy as it is.. so a full respray sounds like it will solve the issue permanently.. on the other hand.. how cheap you sell for? :P

take it to vu @ dt panels.

my car was in similar condition to urs (and i bought it from jap cars also lol) i didnt have any hail damage but i had guttered it a couple of times and had the side keyed so i got a full respray and had all the damage repaired and it was a fantastic job.

i got standard white with gold pearl and triple gold glitter thru it and its amazing now.

cost me 2500. i didnt get the door jams and boot jams done coz its going back shortly when the engine is out so ill get that all done.

also ss8_gohan on here had his car sprayed by vu like 5 or more years ago and the paint on that thing id f**king still in very good nick

I had paint come off on my r33 and my partners dad checked it out and he said there was no primer ever applied in that area, makes me wonder what was the go with Nissan's paint shop if a fair few people are having trouble with it... Hope your car looks as good as new soon

    • I believe Unimog is the only vehicle that has it (from the manufacturer). I haven't seen aftermarket permanently connected kits, but I haven't looked either.
    • Ha ha ha, can't overthink when exhausted... Oh how I wish I had that power! I can be absolutely dead set shot, and my brain will still go "we need a good 3 or 4 hours to just think about everything and anything before you may sleep... My biggest thing is making sure I give myself enough sleep. I don't operate on even 7 hours of sleep! I attempt to give my body 9.5hours sleep a night to be able to function. I don't sleep the whole 9.5, but I need to make sure I offer a big window. I also take a single supplement, which is to help with long term health, and fighting inflammation, and I notice it helps massively. Especially me sleeping, and just less "achey" in the body. Have also kicked sugar, and gluten. A majority of people with ADHD don't go well with gluten. It causes a really interesting natural opioid overdose in the brain, which causes bodily issues and sensory issues.
    • Yeah that's what I meant, permanently connected not manual
    • Yep. But typically that's just run a hose down to the tyre while stationary.   Oh and the Unimog will automatically air up and air down tyres from the onboard computer for you too.
    • There was a good video somewhere, maybe Kurzgesagt that linked physical activity to ADHD/Anxiety/Insomnia etc. Basically the body WILL spend energy doing something if you don't spend it doing anything physical. It isn't fun, but I personally have noticed I've never been overthinky, or unable to sleep if I'm physically exhausted from doing a lot. The musings around it seem to indicate that this is one of the reasons/mechanism that physical activity improves mental health/wellbeing etc, by more or less not using that 'extra' energy to overthink, be anxious, inflammation, etc. There's also the fact that every obnoxious exerciser ever says it's great and helps which is extremely annoying. Like people who say the same thing about travel being the best thing ever. I mean, they clearly are, but blah. I started doing a LITTLE myself (think 3x15min per week) and honestly did notice the benefits, aiming at life quality when older. Which is sooner than you think. Getting something into your routine that you can actually make a routine has helped me at least. This post brought to you by procrastination between sets.
