Ok with the new F1 season fast approaching and myself counting down the days until i head for Melbourne i thought i would post a few pictures i found just recently. They are from an old track in Germany called AVUS. It was basically 2 8km straights with a hairpin at one end and a banked corner at the other. The banked corner was 43deg at it steepest point. The cars would reach 350kph+ back in the 1930's on this track.

The driver in the last two pictures was Richard von Frankenberg who actually survived this crash, most didnt. The corner was known as the wall of death.
