I think they're fine, I wouldn't buy a new one though due to the silly cost

agree, i think they are around $500-$600 brand new maybe more. mine came with the car hence why i want to keep it and i just bought new ARC filter for mine which cost me somewhere are $200 :)

I agree, super smooth ports and inlet piping are shite for airflow. As the inlet air sticks to the piping / port walls and slows down.

Edit - think of a golf ball vs a pingpong ball, which one goes faster through the air.

im pretty sure from what i remember in fluids class. you want a smooth port in internal flow like a pipe (inlet ports) so the flow

doesn't get affected by the boundary layer or turbulence due to sharp edges.

external flow you want a high Reynolds number thats why there's ridges on the golf ball

mate, your example doesnt work, you are comparing fluid flow to a particle in fluid. you cant compare apples with oranges.

Then why has there been 30 odd years of PRACTICAL testing on Aspirated V8s / f1 cars / turbo cars etc, hence CNC ported aftermarket heads leave the cut marks in the ports, also people have chrome plated the ports on engines and gone backwards Hp and torque wise.

Practical real world testing on these things has proven that theory isnt always correct.

I don't think any of us are at the level to worry about such arguments when referring to intercooler pipes..... just shove boost in the thing :)

Hehehe Keep it simple stupid?

LOL

fair call for the surface finish of the head, but that comes into air/fuel interaction.

for the intercooler piping, i thought the idea is to get the air to the head as quick as you can.

back on topic,

whens the planned first outing for this thing?

well looks like nismo hard piping is out of the question too...

starting bidding on the auction for nismo hard piping and hks i/c piping...

i stop bidding at 160,000yen lol :) and i still got out bid

Brand new the kit is 155,000yen without tax lol, and already bought myself a hks i/c piping kit so anything more isn't worth it

edit: WOOO! auction ended at 192,000yen that is over 2k!

Interesteding makes me think the nismo hard piping kit is made for r32 and not just a r33/34 kit.

seeing as you can buy the nismo kit for 155,000 and hks kit is 35,000yen = 190,000yen brand new for both why would someone pay 192,000yen for a second hand kit lol

december if everything goes well. but looks like i have a problem with the hard piping kit so will need to sort that out before the car is ready to go.

Also need to wait for my track rims and tyres to come :S so finger cross they should be here by dec

Get a mate who is good with the tiggy and fab your own up, seriously no one can give you as close to exactly what you want as you can.

cheaper too, plus zero compatibility issues.

    • Yes sir, that was me. Fake ARP's are also a thing over here in Canada and we only order from reputable dealers. It's sad that even simple things like bolts and hoses are now also being copied... anything to make a dollar.  Story time. Like all cheap crap from China, it's even an issue with firearms. Roughly 15 years ago, I purchased a new cheap Norinco 12g shotgun. First time out in the bush with it, while firing, bolt assembly didn't lock and it fired out of battery. The receiver also being cheap steel, basically exploded in my face. I was lucky to be wearing eye protection. Long story short, don't buy Chinese junk. Also Norinco being state run and their only military arms producer, if ever they do try and take over a country, don't worry about it lol.
    • Installed  Nismo coppermix twin competition spec last year in my bnr32 with pull trans with Oem slave cylinder. The point at where the clutch disengages/enages is right at the top of the clutch pedal, meaning I barely have to push the pedal down for the clutch to be disengaged.  You guys that have the same combo are you experiencing this high pedal bite point??   Secondly I’d like to have the disengagement point lower meaning I have to push the pedal more(further not effort)for it to be disengaged.  I’m thinking to use a Nismo big operating cylinder(bigger bore at 13/16 vs Oem 3/4) which will require more pedal stroke to get the equivalent movement at the clutch fork. But I see Nismo web site says not to mix these 2 as the Nismo big operating cylinder doesn’t have enough stroke to disengage??? Any folks run both the coppermix twin pull with Nismo cylinder??    Thanks in advance for the replies but prefer only guys with pull clutches to respond. thanks
    • Any chance u could let us know where your based ?
    • That’s a great deal and I would jump on it if you were closer. Melbourne is a bit of a hike for me though unfortunately
