Since it is more then likely the car below which is know "WILL NOT PASS IN A MILLION YEARS" in WA and for that matter any state these days. All things aside the wide body kit is a start and the list goes on from there.

Remember a V36 with 2,000 klm's got picked up for HID and tyre placard, you will also put money down it will require a 5 gas and full mod approval.

Stock rims and ripping the cage out wont do it, look at the rim size and it isn't even currently registered.

Unfortunately due to a change in financial circumstances I have to sell my most prized toy. I imported this car from Japan many years ago and never expected to sell it so I hope a good new home can be found.

This car is a very rare beast, it was built in-house by Kakimoto Racing in Japan for a certain circuit racing class when it was near new. There are a few clones floating around that were built using cheap copies of the body kit just to look good, but this is the only genuine Kakimoto Racing KR33 that will ever be available in Australia. Modifications include the obvious wide body kit as well as a number of other things. The first photo shows the car as it was previously with all the stickers, old wing mirrors and no front grille - the car now has the new Ganador aero mirrors, a new front grille and most of the stickers have been removed.

Kakimoto Racing KR33 body kit (valued at over $12,000)

Kakimoto Racing alloy wheels

- 17x10.5" front

- 17x13" rear

new tyres all round (cost over $2,500)

- 255/40x17 front

- 335/35x17 rear (factory Lamborghini Diablo fitment)

high flow turbo

Mines tuned ECU

front mount intercooler

Sard Trigger boost controller

Nismo fuel pump

Cusco front strut brace

Cusco 1.5 way LSD

Ohlins coil-over suspension

TEIN adjustable castor arms

titanium exhaust system

Cusco 6 point roll cage (currently only using 4 point)

Ganador aero mirrors (electric operation)

Momo Commando steering wheel

Momo gear shift knob

custom red leather interior trim

remote start car alarm with pager

central locking and auto window roll-up

Sony CD player stereo

6000k HID Xenon headlights

Nismo 320km/h dash cluster

.. and probably more which I have forgotten

I have used this car mainly for road use but also enjoyed the occasional track day. This car handles amazingly as well as having excellent straight line performance. As my main purpose was for driving on normal roads I have kept the air conditioning fully functional, added a new CD stereo system, remote engine starting car alarm and leather interior but it could be easily changed to a "track only" car if desired.

The car was imported and complied for road use under the low volume import laws and all import paperwork is available so it can be road registered if required. It's not currently road registered so I am happy to sell it as is otherwise we can arrange a suitable price including registration if preferred.

No dreamers, test pilots or stupid offers, only serious enquiries please. Any questions or to arrange a viewing please call Craig on 0414 502 250 anytime.

Well... very useful post there. Apart from copying the advert which James clearly didn't want to post on here, you didn't really do much else. Care to elaborate at all on that? Why would this car "NOT PASS IN A MILLION YEARS"? I'm not seeing any mods there that can't be engineered and registered?

It would easily pass 5 gas, there isn't much modification engine wise. Mod approval is as simple as filling out a form and taking it to an engineer, there aren't any out of this world modifications on the car.

I'm not seeing any mods there that can't be engineered and registered? If you cant see why this wont pass there isnt much to say, read the ADR's to explain why and if you think an engineer will sign this car off you need to get some experience in the field of modifications in WA to make comments.

It would easily pass 5 gas, How do you know it will pass easily, have you tried to pass many modified cars under the current emissions policy and with out physically seeing the car how do you know all the mods.

Mod approval is as simple as filling out a form and taking it to an engineer, No it isn't so again have to tried to have a highly modified car approved with full mod permits.

there aren't any out of this world modifications on the car. Look at the body as it is against the law in WA to have glass front guards and glass rear qtrs as the Kakimoto kit cuts the rear qtrs out from memory.

He asked would it pass and I showed him why what is the problem, if he went off comments made by the usual key board warriors he could of bought it and been in a world of hurt.

You even made a comment to posting the add, but what service to the forum is provided by questioning what I posted up and since you state else were on SAU you are on your P's or just off and still at school, unless you have a job with an automotive mechanical engineering firm in WA to give your comments some strength be careful what you say.

Link to ad dude, WCC is down so I can't get to it.

From memory it all seemed like things you could get engineered, so not really a big deal. But a link to the ad would help.

I have helped many a car with issues passing the pits be it local or interstate all free of charge as 90% of the time the issue comes from misinformation not stupidity.

Nope, that's all I wanted mate, more detail. Your previous post seemed like a "this car seems nice, tell the OP it's impossible to register and then buy it myself" type post. Have seen plenty of that on this forum before, bearing in mind I don't know you or what type of person you are at all, I think my request was justified. No offense was intended.

Also, yes I did request a link to the ad; James chose to PM me instead because he didn't want to post it here... Just sayin.

This. Good call. I am still at school. I'm in year two. Don't recall stating it elsewhere on SAU though? Link?

Appreciated mate.

I guess its looking grim.

Still.... I am tempted, very very tempted. (Afterall, I'm young and stupid remember?) :)

There are some wide body R32 GTR's getting around but they are registered, been here for years and are kept out of site. The problems is registering it from interstate, the quality of the workmanship, price or looks have no relevance to my comments.

Just seen so many people stuck with $1,000's of dollars in bills to cars with a lot less mods then this car.

Nice, very nice, stalker?

Seriously though, April 09? Anything within the last year? Hats off though sir, you have done your homework.

I get paid to "do my homework" as you would say, I don't make comments without some back ground knowledge on the subject.

Apparently not.

No, no, fair call, I'm glad we had this little bonding session, I feel closer to the SAU community now. As I said, didn't mean any offense by questioning your post, just wanted more detail. Stated my reasons for that.

Would love to stay and chat, but I know when I'm beaten and I think I'm getting schooled by a hitman, so I shall take my leave. Night all <3

doesnt look like a special 33

ugly as fark with that bodykit and doesnt seem that modified beside a cage?

By the time u bring it over/rego it etc Im sure you can find a much nicer example in WA thats already regoed

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
