Hi just wanted to know if anyone had a rough idea of how much it would cost to install these poncams i got for my

rb25det could someone pm me if they have installed them or know anyone who has cheers guys

the cams can go for around the 800 mark

ive heard round the traps these added a second on to a few ppls laptimes... ull have to do ur own reasearch but whats the car being used for?

roughly 200-300 to install i would say.

Wow up here workshops would want about $500+ to install. It's a fairly lengthy job if done the proper way.

takes 2 hours tops... even 100 an hour is a premium for a workshop

Two hours?! How? I've had mine in and out half a dozen times and no way could I do it in two hours

It aint really a proper/improper way, probably a bad choice of word. Some people can take the harmonic balancer off without taking the radiator out. I use a puller so I have to take the radiator out which obviously adds some more time putting it in and out and bleeding it.

oh right.

ive done quite a lot of cam installs... i do it without taking the balancer off. it involves pulling the gears off the cams and putting them back on the same way. quite difficult and i dont recommend it for someone who hasnt done it as there is potential to get it wrong.

it does however save me an hour of stuffing around.

so worst case.. 3 hours to do it with balancer off.. still shouldnt be any more then 300 @100 an hour

Ah ok right, I forgot some people do that. I was never game to do that to mine. Now idea how you manage to do it though without mucking something up.

well i did it a few time on my engine til i was confident.. there is a few tricks involved in doing it.

still.. 2 hours is slow me for me.. SR cams are even quicker can do them in an hour and 20 mins haha
