Repairable Or Write Off?

For some insurance companies, their break even point at which it's considered a write off is 70% of the insured value, so if the cost of repairs exceed $8400, then it will be written off. Obviously it depends on your insurer and their break even point.

In my experience decision to write off is made by the insurance company without input from the customer. The point is if they write it off some enterprising member should be able to buy it at auction (or through the owner - sometimes they give the owner the opportunity t obuy it before the auction) for a couple of thousand and repair it. Presumably it wil have to be re-complied or something. When my last Stagea was written off I bought the wreck for $1500 - it had at least $6000 worth of parts on it ( 245kw engine, suspension etc )

It will go very close to write off, depending on your insurance company, some will repair with used parts. some wont and will have to call nissan.. i am guessing from your description you were at fault also..

then the wait on the parts also will come into play..

good luck with it however!
