I currently have a gst4 32 mods are re-maped ECU, r33 FMIC, Z32 airflow meter, 3" exhaust with custom dump pipe, r34 neo turbo, gtr injectors, walbro fuel pump, and running 15psi

i just had the car tunned with all the following mods on a 2 wheel drive dyno so all power coming to rear wheels only the car pushed out 177kw i am thinking this power out put is resonably low considering i have seen cars with less mods produce more power am i taking my car to the wrong tuner i wont name names.

Hey man i am not blaming the tuner just askin advice fromm other mebers that know there shit about cars ill be the first to addmit all this shit confuses me lol i am happy with the tune but every one i hav told about it has told me it should be pushing out more and detering my initail thoughs of my tune, the car has 140,000km's and comperssion is sweet just usuall miss that a rb20 has lol :D

The question you have to ask yourself is does it go well/better in your opinion - butt dyno .

A lot of people fall in love with a target power number and can't sleep at night if it doesn't materialise . If the thing goes well enough in your opinion who cares what the number is .

It seems you are into easy upgrades which is the practical economic approach but there is the chance you may have undershot and overshot with a couple of things possibly .

The turbo you have is from an R34 GTt and from memory they crank out ~ 206 Kw , the SMIC came from a 184 Kw R33 RB25DET . The things both versions of the RB25 have are obviously the extra 500ccs and larger bores/ports/valves .

The R34 versions sometimes use a larger sized turbine housing than the 33s and they get away with it through things like more sophisticated engine management and VCT and slightly different std cam profiles .

There is a chance you have the larger turbine housing , which incidentally was originally designed for the low boost pressure Z32 VG30DET engine , on your R34 turbo and its only a LOT bigger than your original RB20 turbos turbine housing .

I reckon if the slightly larger than RB20 RB25's turbine housing helps the R33 crank out 184 Kw its possibly a better option for an RB20 than the largest VG30/RB25 Neo's turbine housing . Should give you a bit more low to mid range and not lose anything up to possibly 200 Kw .

As for the SMIC the R34 GTts one is a bit taller and deeper through than the R33s one and if it was possible to fit one reasonably easily into an R32 GTST its what I'd do .

Food for thought , cheers A .

For reference, I had my GTS4 on a 2WD dyno, basically stock apart from a slightly bigger turbo still running stock boost - 145kW.

Also, the figure you get out of a dyno will vary depending on how the dyno was calibrated, and how recently it was calibrated. Take it to another dyno, and you may well get a different figure. And it will vary with the prevailing weather conditions - you may not get as much power on a dry 35C day as you will on a damp 25C day.

many years ago when i had mine.. the last dyno it had was at 197rwkw.

had a hiflowed R33 turbo, chipped ecu, front mount with diy piping, 3" exhaust, no cat, 1bar boost, std afm. once i put the turbo on it made a massive difference to power ouput even before the chipped ecu went in.

oh yeah the car had 220,000kms on it when i sold it :(
