3" Kakimoto muffler $260!

3" Kakimoto muffler, bolts straight onto R33 GTR/GTS/T. In very good condition, still on the car. Will only take it off if someone wants it. see here for a pic:

Not interested in buying it (I'm too poor at the moment!) but just out of curiosity, does it pass the EPA noise levels on your car?

kakimoto zorst tend be a lot louder than other jap brands eg. apexi, hks etc.

i've got the n1 spec kakimoto, turbo back and its 100db@4800rpm

not sure if it passes epa, i don't think it would but it would also depend on the type of resonator u have. is the n1 spec the canon sytle? that one is slightly louder than the over shape which i have.

it is jasma certified if that means anything.

I have the same exhaust system (cat back) and I'm in the mid 80's db mark.

To generalise kakimoto exhaust systems are loud is wrong.

i have kakimoto turbo-back also on my gts25t and its pretty quite but very purrry and sounds insane when giving it a little bit of stick....i love it....great for performance and flow aswell

chopobo, there is no tip inside another tip, what u are looking at is a front on view of the tip, inside the tip u can see the size of the inlet which is 3". the tip is larger than the inlet size. tip could be 4 - 4.5"?

cheers for the replies, i always thought that this style of kakimoto muffler was slightly quieter than the canon ones. now lets stick to the topic, are there any buyers?

muffler has now been removed from the car. here is a diagram of it, what i have is the back half in the diagram.
