My mate gave me a Apexi Power FC + commander for my R33 GTR and I'm contemplating whether I should put it in my car.

The only mods I've done is a Apexi N1 Evolution catback exhaust, K&N hi flow panel filter and the boost is set at 1 bar.

I don't really have that much money to modify it further and I'm pretty happy with it as it is.

Would the PFC + tune be worthwhile in my near standard car and what kind of power gains would I be looking at?

Should I at least upgrade my fuel pump and injectors?

I've been looking at these injectors:

RC Fuel Injectors Nissan Skyline RB24 RB26 660cc 660 cc: eBay Motors (item 280396155407 end time Sep-06-10 09:58:11 PDT)

You probably have about 200kw at the wheels now. A powerfc + tune will get you maybe 230kw. Stock injectors are good for 280kw so don't change them. If the turbos are stockers they wont last at 1 bar forever, and when they do let go they can trash the motor if you're unlucky....

Spend the money on Front and Down pipes and a Hi Flow Cat so you get a full turbo back exhaust system.

That will open up the power a lot more.

You can still run a Power FC on a lightly modified car, as it will refine your Air / Fuel system to run at an optimum level.

Having said that, your car is stock besides a panel filter / cat back exhaust, 1 Bar boost and if your not willing to take on higher power levels, you won't really need the Power FC.

I would not bother with the 660cc injectors unless you are chasing big power figures.

Until you want a large amount of kW's, Power FC's / Injectors / Fuel Pump / Fuel Rail / Fuel Regulator / Z32 or Nismo AMF's / Boost Controller / Dyno Tune will have to come into play.

(1 thing after another)

Stock GTR parts like the Air Box + Filter / AFM's / Front Mount Intercooler / BOV / Fueling System are all good for 300 - 350 kW's.

Yeah AFMs like injectors are good for 280-300kw so changing them now is a waste of money. Save up for turbos and do them before anything, you're on borrowed time. My stock turbs let go at 13.5 psi, probably 120,000kms old. If you have to do ECU now, price up Nistune as an alternative to powerfc.

I'm in the same situation really.

Got the PFC in a box but the car is stock.

Found the car is still fitted with the boost restrictor.

Will removing the restrictor raise the boost to 1 bar?
