just wanted to know if there were any tricks to removing the harmonic balancer, have tried to use a power bar, didnt work so have tried with a rattle gun and it still seems tight. any tricks?? also with the CAS have removed all the bolts but cant get it out, it seems to be stuck, cant even adjust it, its just stuck in one place, is there a trick to this or is it just stuck on there

for undoing the crank pulley put a power bar on it and jam it under the chassis rail and flick the starter motor

and use a crows foot puller with 2 10mm bolts into the pulley to get it off

cas is very tight fit in alloy bracket . maybe slightly corrioded. give it some spray then lever it out gently or tap it round to "adjust " it / itll come out

thanks, just wasnt sure bout levering it, wasnt sure if i had missed something. and motor is already out, tried a power bar on it already, better double check what was does it go clockwise or anti clockwise. i know ive done it right but thought id still ask

For some reason, the Nissan manual specifies about 150nm (I can't remember the exact number) on the balancer bolt. But if you find the torque is 3x that, then it's likely it's had a timing belt change at a Nissan dealership in Japan, don't ask me why the reason behind it.
