The ecu was a power fc and no it wasnt bouncing off the limiter. It held those revs for a couple of secends then he backed off.

The block was cleaned fairly well as its not the 1st engine ive built but there are a few things that may have givin me contamination. The only thing is the car was driven around for a couple of weeks without a problem before anything happened. Also the car was driven for a day or 2 after it saw the high rpm and it drove without a problem.

As DVSR32 said i should check the oil to maybe find out what the cause was. Not sure as to where i can get this done or how it works exactly but i would really like to find the cuase of my problem.

Maybe i should ask for a 8000rpm- 8500rpm rev limit just in case to help save the engine from the high revs.

Personally I think its a little late for an oil contamination test, the bearing has let go so you are guaranteed to find metal in the oil. Best to pull it down and inspect. Keep a sample of the oil just incase.

As for rev limit, it speaks for itself. Set the limit to the actual limitations of your build.
