Knock In Engine

hi guys if the engine had a knock in it wouldnt the engine check light come on???

Yeah it does after a certain knock reading level the light flicks on during the knock

If it's a mechanical knock like a Conrod trying to find it's way out or Piston Slapping then I don't think it would set the engine light off.

The knock sensor would turn on the check engine light.

if you have the STD ECU and the engine is knocking - that is detonating the engine check light will NOT come on

if you have an apexi powerfc and the engine is knocking - that is detonating th enge check light will flash when knock level exceeds 60

if you have any ECU and the engine has a mechnical knock such as big end bearing - no engine check light will come on as the ECU has no way to check and measure this
