Replacing Fuel Lines

IT STUFFED UP! I WROTE SO MUCH AND LOST IT ALL! here goes for re writing it all...

I've had trouble with my fuel guage reading and i've had my fuel pump in and out a bit lately to replace the fuel level sender. This has brought to my attention, my perished fuel lines. i'm a first year apprentice mechanic so hopefully these questions don't sound too stupid.

Are the fuel lines one piece of hose running from the fuel pump right to the fuel rail, only split for the fuel filter? and also,

does it run from the top of the tank down the back and underneath the car the whole way? and lastly,

what is the best way to replace these lines?

any help would be sweet.

Pretty certain that the majority of the fuel line is a steel pipe running along the underside of the car. Short sections of rubber hose are used to join components like the fuel filter into the fuel system.

If you need to replace them, you can get EFI grade (high pressure) rubber fuel line from most auto parts stores.

as for replacing the perished lines, you are a first year mechanic and didn't simply think to ask your boss at work? it's simple. pull off a bit of line, work out what size you need and put on a new bit of line.

+1, fuel hose to underside where the steel pipework is to the boot. No harm asking-its where we all started & plenty of guys/gals on here helped me understand-coming from ol ford guy to Nissans & I wont be going back

Just make sure it is actually fuel line- or if you are playing around near fuel pump the stuff in the tank it has to be fuel immersible & safe
