You just have to play it to understand. Like any game you get used to it pretty quick, but tunnelling through darkness knowing bad shit is going to jump out at you at any second is "creepy". This new world was "creepier" because it had new and nasty things, so not only did you not know when bad guys would jump out, but also you had no idea what they would be.

Yeah it's worth it. Very cheap, no subscription and updates for life.

I rage quit because I died with a heap of diamonds but my stuff disappeared upon death.

But I downloaded an inventory editor to get it back
