Heaps of things.

AFM broke from over-tightening... twice (plastic POS).

Power steering tensioner bolt hmmm

Wheel stud on my old s13 snapped whilst I was torquing the nut <--?!??!!

Around 149853553 hose clamps :D

This isn't exactly a part off my car but when I first bought my 32 (over 5 years ago) the dickhead who previously owned it torqued the oil filter so F\*&)%ng tightly I had to stab a screwdriver right through the centre of it to try and move it. Initially it wouldn't budge and ended up snapping the screwdriver in the process. I then used a thicker and longer screwdriver and eventually, after a lot of blood, sweat and tears it finally came off. LOL

I have gone through 3 1/2 inch breaker bars. Good old supercheap SWG one's with lifetime guarantee. They were pretty reluctant to replace the last one I broke lol!

First one was broken when undoing a 300zx hub retainer nut. Had a 2metre long extension pole on it.

Second one was from a similar thing.'

Third one was when I was trying to undo the harmonic balancer bolt on the RB26. Had a 3 metre long steel pole on the end.....no good, didn't come undone, just sheared the square part of the breaker bar.

Sump plugs and alloy sumps ain't that crash hot either, had to helicoil 2 sumps for me and another guy.

harmonic balancer in my first supr (na) shot off the front of my engine broke the fan and shroud and proceded to f**k up all the belt on the front of my engine lol

had to replace every pulley, belt, radiator, fan and shroud etc

cost heaps for an 18 year old 2nd year apprentice lol

Being an absolute retard when I was changing out my suspension on my r32 I kept thinking to myself man I should really put in some wheel chocks. Kept thinking that til I was almost done and car slipped off the Jack. Luckily the Jack caught the car as it fell over sideways so I only lost a sideskirt

The stud where the top radiator bracket bolts to the radiator support. Opened the bonnet to do the usual checks thought "hmmm, that's not sitting right" un did the bolt, moved the bracket, snap. F***** around drilling, tapping and fitting a new stud. That's the most recent one. All because it wasn't sitting square! *face-palm*

I was pushing the rubber hanger onto the exhaust hanger and pushed THAT hard with my hand onto my thumb that my thumb bent BACKWARDS and broke the ligaments in it... The next few days my right hand was near useless as you pretty much need the thumb to do anything - couldnt turn the car key on with that hand nor open the key to the front door of the house as doing ANYTHING with that thumb/put any pressure on it would cause it to bend backwards and hurt like hell. I'm still only about halfway through it's healing process... mobility of the thumb isnt as good as the other thumb, can put some pressure with it but not too much and it stings like hell if something whacks into it. Should completely heal in another month or two I reckon.

OUCH!!

me and a friend were trying to put a gearbox in an escort a while back, bloody thing just wouldnt go in for some reason, needed like 5mm more clearance.

With him under the car and me in the engine bay trying to force it in it slipped , fell and mashed his fiinger, got quite a few stitches..

While he was at the hospital i figured out the car was twisted on the stands and by jacking up part of the chassis it came straight enough that i got it in myself quite easily with a jack... :D ...

I havent actually... I've always thought that was more for muscle aches, back pains, joint pains etc.

I do get back pains every once in awhile from work actually!

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
