Has Anyone Installed Hid's Into Their Converted H1 Headlights?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a set of HID's for my butchered and converted H1 headlights.

Before I purchase a kit, I had a scout around the back of my headlights to see how easily I could install them and could not see any way of installing them without taking the whole headlight out and pulling it apart because of how the compliance conversion was done.

Has anyone installed a kit without taking out the headlights or have any ideas?

Okay, so my compliance conversion is completely different to all the others I've seen. Seems hacking a hole and sealing it up with gasket goo is compliance standard...

I currently don't have a hole through the headlight cover on the back like the ones i've seen, so I guess drilling it out will be the best option.

I had a go at removing a headlight so I could install mine with the ballast where the factory one used to be.. major head fk, have to take the front bar off, cbf, gave up for now

Yeah I originally wanted to do the same so I had a look, then cbf hahaha.

did mine, best mod or un-mod ive done to the Stagea, H1s were literally dangerous at night. Not too hard if you are handy with electrics, no need to remove bar to remove lights.

I got some butchered stock ballasts and just re installed the stock wiring with some new d2r sockets. Just one recomendation don't buy cheap bulbs they don't last long enough for it to be worth saving a few dollars.
