Hi guys my v35 2005 coupe doesn't triple flash when soft indicating for lane change. I know that it is definitely a feature because one of the v35's I test drove while looking around to buy had this on.

I'm thinking there might be a setting in amongst the nav vehicle info screens somewhere but it's in jap so I'm at a loss.

same, I never heard of that feature on a Nissan V35...

maybe buy a VW Golf... like me :-)

You get triple blinker as standard alongside other smart features like rain sensing wipers, auto dimming mirrors etc. LOL

Thanks for the quick responses. I might look into it further, would be an interesting find. My girlfriends got a fresh 2010 vw golf and it's a nifty feature. I wouldn't trade my coupe for the world though.

might be an aftermarket thing wired by previous owner in one of the v35...

I was like you, won't sell my coupe FTW, but in the end I gave up and traded my coupe for golf gti, and didn't regret it at all, but hey that's just me... 5dr hatchback is a lot more practical for me, so I can put a baby seat at the back. and fit those huge luggages overseas relatives always bring with them when I pick them up @ airport twice a year.... coupe just don't cut it anymore for my need, I always had to ask them if they had big luggage or not (in horror) when I had the v35 coupe.

golf's tank is only 55ltr compared to coupe's 65ltr but the golf took me 100km further from a tank fill... and dsg is a lot more fun than that conventional slushbox auto in my v35... quieter ride too and almost as quick.

and that nifty 3 blinker feature on lane change ;-)

on the golf it can be enabled/disabled through the on-dash user setting, very handy feature to have to personalise the way your car behave... they don't have it on the v35, and those navi screen, they only do trip computer, compass, and service reminder, there's no setting or menu option in there to set it. I know cos we now have the english translation software for those japanese menu for the 2001-2004 v35 (2005+ still in progress)

You might be on the ball with it being aftermarket. I spoke to the guy that has it last night and he said he definitely has a triple blink system happening. He doesn't know how it's set up. I'm thinking of running a tiny 555 timer circuit on the indicator line before it hits the bcm. That might hold it on for a set period. Hmmm...

if you're gonna do it, I suggest do it for 5 blinks... the triple blink on the golf is very handy but if you hesitate a bit on changing lane (having a 2nd thought or a mental block) then 3 blinks not long enough...

but at least the short period of 3 blinks encourage you to execute your manouvre in a firm, determined, no fuss way...

hesitation is a sign of weakness :-)

yep that looks like it will work. being PIC based makes it a bit smaller as well. you could just about do away with most of the 'load bearing' side if it and grab control of the lights from the stalk input. then let the PIC run that back into the BCM. timing would be similar.
