Sorry, have to step in here. Turbo Timer isn't defectable (I confirmed this with the RTA Tech Enquiries line). It's only if you leave the vehicle you can get done. If you're still in the car it's ok.

A lot of trucks have turbo timers factory fitted..and they don't have problems.

I thought turbo timers were legal, as long as they have a handbrake and speed override. ie if handbrake goes off or speed is greater than 0 then motor shuts off?

This is what happens with my turbo timer, i think i got this info from these forums so its probably wrong.

yes illegal in vic/aus but not in japan. do you think the jap authorities would care if a skyline had a factory turbo timer? hell no

its just our laws/regulations are much more stricter

in japan the factory turbo timer would have been a great and good idea
