Battery Corrosion

Hey guys,

Just getting annoyed as my battery terminals are constantly getting corroded. Every four months or so the car will not start up unless I file them. I know this may be due to the alternator giving to much charge, I did keep the same alternator from the de motor but this shouldn't be a problem. Anyone know any tricks to stop this from happening?

Go to Repco, etc & buy some battery terminal protector if you are keen.

For personal use a can will last forever...

heaps of products out there from sprays to greases to coat the terminals and seal them up.

did you hit your terminals with something last time you put the battery cables back on?

Sometimes doing this breaks the seal underneath the terminal allowing the gasses out which corrodes your terminals.

^^ Too true!!! open the terminals up with a screwdriver to make them fit over rather than beating them down with something!!!
