there are a few TTs going for 15grand, but those are generally series 1 and automatic or manual with lots of dodgy stuff going on..

BUT, there previously was a guy in qld with a 93 TT auto for sale, at 13grand, and in pretty good nick from what it seemed, and just when i got the cash ready, he changed his mind about selling it.

but, if you're patient, there are bargains to be had...

is it a personal preference opinion thing or what?

i dont get what's wrong with auto, the box on my supra was pretty indestructable... the rear end wasn't though,

I like auto, you get constant boost, you just plant your foot down, and its good for melbourne's crappy traffic. Now, what's your reason for hating auto, other than auto being "gay"

reason i hate auto is your not in complete control of the car...your not really "driving" the car when its auto if you get me...personal opinion i guess..but im sure 90% of users on this forum would agree if not more that auto is a waste in a sports car

For a cruiser or a drag car, auto is great. For a sports car? Get f*cked.

You have so much more control with a manual gearbox. Shifting down for corners, dropping the clutch, launching etc... It becomes even better once you learn tricks like double clutching, heel/toe etc.

I just find manual 100x more fun.

Same here, but I could see how someone would prefer an Auto if they were driving in traffic a lot. Thankfully I don't have that problem.

To OP, if you don't want another Skyline, I vote S14 or S15. They look sexy and still go.

Thanks all please keep coming with your thoughts.

firstly manual for the win.

secondly. silvia might be a option, but at my budget it will most likely be a s14 with parts from all different cars put together, as i heard they are heavily modded.

The options i were looking at are: r34(i dnt think i could go down to a r33 after having a r34).

Any1 have a r34 black for sale in my price range? let me know. :(

When you daily drive a manual you get sick of it after a while, particularly turbocharged manuals with lag. I'll echo what xALmoN said...you're on boost as soon as you put your foot down. I used to think the same though, "manual is the only true sports car" etc. but button clutches and peak hour traffic don't mix. On the street you can't beat autos. Toyota are really good at matching their autos to their engines too. I had a manual and auto Soarer...whilst the manual was fun, the auto owned it for street drivability. Maybe daily auto and weekend manual is where it's at?

my old r34 was auto i did enjoy it but once i got the gtr its heaps better. stop start traffic doesnt bother me i barely have my foot on the clutch anyway only to get moving and when i stop it goes straight into nuetral and just use the brakes. at first i thought it would be annoying but it isnt. and turbo lag doesnt really bother me either, i like the anticipation :(

I reckon a lightly modded auto Soarer would make a great daily, except for the lack of doors and backseats. Very comfortable, a bit of fun and you won't hate it like a small A to B hatchback. Granted it won't be as great on fuel or cheap to buy/run, but unless you're doing a stupid amount of k's everyday I can't imagine it being too bad.

faster from a roll-on? sif. by the time your slusher clunks down, i'm goneski
