skids!

This does look fun!

I am pretty interested in coming and taking my new silvia for a spin, but havnt done anything like this before so am a little nieve about a few things. With the "All cars must have an insurance approved fire extinguisher secured within drivers reach" what are the 'approved' fire extinguishers and do places ususlly sell them with a bracket able to be secured somewhere or do you have to get one made up?

Im assuming my typical duct tape/cable tie method of securing most things would not be acceptable :)

Hey man;

Autobarn has them for about $30; they come with a bracket. what I've done is used the bolt that holds the tab down on the passenger side of the back seat, kinda hard to explain, i'll take a photo tonight. I've bolted that in tight, so if need be, unclip and bang, extinguisher.

You'll also need a helmet, I put links in this thread for an eBay guy selling them; about $100 inc shipping, or you can see MCAS or similar so you can try one on first.

ASAA/CAMS L2NS license also required, $50 I think for a year?

So to sum up, from having nothing to entering texi the first time:

$30 - Extinguisher

$100 - Helmet

$50 - ASAA/CAMS

$70 - Texi entry (or $50 if you're an SAUNSW member, but we'll go with 70 for now)

So first time it'll cost $250 plus fuel, but after that, just the entry fee plus fuel. Plus tyres. :) Keep in mind, those 18's I'm running in that pic still have a ton of tread on them; guess I didn't go hard enough, but I thought I did

Oweban, you went soft as... Epically soft since you wouldn't let me drive it! :)

Even Mel, Dave and Eric handed over keys... :)

PS, Looks like after a 10hour flight, I will be driving to Canberra just so I can make it back to Texi at 5AM the next morning...

Big ups to Sean for a lend of a car! :D

Thanks heaps, Ill go check out autobarn and if you can send me a picture that would be awesome. I have a helmet already because I ride motorbikes, and have a few spair tyres lying around from my GTS-T which should fit the silvia too, so it shouldnt be too expensive for a first time event :D

Hey mate good to hear you finally got past the EPA. Narimba is about 5mins from where you borrowed the stock exhaust off my mate.

I'm trying to get him to take his car too so you might not be the only s15

Aww bugger. I'm planning on doing filming instead of running.

So I'll drive your car and you can tell everyone that you were driving ;)

..... or I can film you when you do your runs either way is cool
