AE86 website. I looked on there for a while and plenty came up but prices weren't cheap. I ended up with performance Superlites which I really do like and the cost me $1080.00 for 16 x 8 -4 offset rear and 0 offset on the front.

I do like the look of them but had concerns on their weight. I wonder if their GTR lite model is safe to drive on the street. Has anyone had any experience with import monster?

Superlights confirm to aus standards, and the GTR light isnt as light as you would think.

That said, they are a cheaper alternative to wantanbe wheels, and If you bash one, a brand newie is only $270 odd away.

I used to run them on my daily, no problems at all.

(only took them off to covert my car back to standard looking specs)

As with buying wheels off ae86 forums, prices there reflect what they are worth in japan, combine that with that most wheels having been discontinued 20 odd years ago, and the poor exchange rate at the moment, stuff gets expensive fast.

I have a yahoo auctions account, If your keen,pm me and I can run you through whats involved and get some qoutes.

  • 6 months later...

sorry to revive an old thread.

ae86dc usually has alot of wheels to suit our old datsuns but as already mentioned they can be quite pricey and go quickly.

another option is to search yahoo auctions japan.

- go to the import monster site, and use their yahoo auctions search (import monster site translates it into japlish for you).

- once youve found the wheels you like order them through jesse streeter (www.jessestreeter.com)

- tell him how much you want to bid on the item for, if won he will package up everything and send them over to you from japan via seamail (6-9 weeks but very cheap) or ems (4-6 days very exp for large items).

- his commissions are very low compared to other sites which offer this service eg. import monster, nengun etc.

- very good to deal with, great communication and packages up the items very well.

ive ordered various parts for my 240z from him ,eg. rims, body parts etc.

There is one place that has TONNES of JDM rims, in Parramattaa.

Otomoto

http://otomoto.shop033.com/c/4073478/1/used-wheels.html

Ben is a great guy to deal with, has been on the scene for YEARS, really knows his stuff.

The rare/big dish type rims normally sell pretty quick, even before they arrive in the country, so check the web-page regularly...
