Just an update guys - entry to people wanting to show off their cars in this excellent display to be held at Wigley Reserve, Glenelg this Saturday can just rock up and pay on the day. With a gracious offer from Cazz (the organiser and owner of some mind-blowing R30s and R31s herself), the SAU Exec have decided we will have an SAU tent and presence at the show'n'shine on Saturday, some come to and say hi and pick up some SAU merchandise.

Entries to the Mallala track day have basically filled up (a few spots left might be up for grabs - contact organisers ASAP if you are keen to race). Between all the Gibson cars coming (including the Winfield R32GTR, race DR30s and 31s), then cars like Munro's R33 race car, the Willall R35GTR (there will be at least 6 R35GTrs racing!) and RH9, it will be an amazing sight.

Entry is just $10 at the gate at Mallala on Sunday - the first Gibson/SVD cars parade lap is hoping to be around 9:15am, and there will be another near lunch. Plenty of racing inbetween too.

Tell your mates and come along for a great weekend. If you are into Skylines, then this weekend is the absolute ultimate!

Excellent Seb, will be great to catch up, and also to see one of (if not) the best R35GTRs IN THE ENTIRE WORLD (no exaggeration necessary). People who haven't seen Seb's extremely heavily modified (to say the least) R35GTR should come just to see that one car, let alone the 100s of other awesome cars that will be present.

That is a very good question Ryan - can someone who has pre-registered and got their paperwork handy post up the start time? I am not sure if the folks would have this already or whether they get it at sign-in tomorrow. I assume it would start at 9am (so cars there from 8am for setup or something like that), but will confirm as soon as I know.

This seeing gracious offer from Cazz and I managed to convince the missus to let me go to this about 12 last night, though my car is abit dirty :ermm: Hopefully there is still some room when I rock up in 1/2 an hour or so

    • Hi All, I'm based in Sydney and want to get hold of 4 stock R34 GTT wheel caps as pictured. Cheers
    • Haha im flattered! Although my poor boat is collecting dust in the garage, as it hasn’t been driven in like 6 months. I forgot the to put the trickle charger on too, so the battery is likely toast now.. I have the frenchys kit. It is fantastic. My only gripe was that the hard lines from the firewall needed some tweaking, however, this was mainly due to my specific turbo and dump combo. The weight and size packaging is much nicer too. I think I have some pics on my build thread somewhere.. my justification for the kit was more “why not” I had gone to the trouble to modernise just about every other part of the car..
    • Actually, ethanol has probably never been cheaper, on a tax free basis, than petrol. With fuel excise being what it is, and only being levied on the hydocarbon component, not the ethanol component, and ethanol for non-drinking purposes not being subject to liquor excise - E85 was cheaper, but not because the combustible liquid itself was particularly cheaper.
    • Maybe? If changing the cat to a higher flowing cat, caused the turbo to spool more quickly, and those areas of the map had not been tuned for the boost level it is now seeing, then yes you would need a re-tune. How dangerous it is running without the updated tune would depend on how far out the tune is with the now higher boost levels, how the engine protection has been setup, is the ECU compensating with a wideband sensor, is the boost control closed loop blah blah million other things... But yeah having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if changing out the cat for a high flow, in say a full 3" exhaust, made no noticeable difference at all.
