I just got a pair of new number plates for my line. The plates are smaller.. according to VICROADS there are only two types of plates.. "big" and "small". They are both same in length but different in height. My plates are 37 cm.. but my line can only fit sumthing about ~32cm (in front). How do you guys fit the plates? Do you guys just bend them? If so, what or where do u go to get them bent without scratching it... or are there other alternative methods you guys reccommend? :)

thanks druzilla32, your advice worked.... even though i wasn't equiped with professional utilities.. i got the bend with a cloth, hammer and a pair of scissors hehe. (plz dun laugh :D)

I used the scissors to cut the top and bottom abit.. so it can bend easier, then i used a hammer to bend the sides, by laying it on a hard concrete corner and a cloth covering it so my plates don't get scratch. Now... it fits perfectly on my line.. and i'm very happy :)

and this thing is useful for all sorts of stuff.... and it is a

DREMEL!!!

Good for cutting grinding polishing etc etc

Although i didnt use it on mine (i kinda made them fit by bending, but the rear was tensed so when i tapped it with my foot one day *crump* big bend line.

I'll be getting myself a new set and dremeling down the edges to make em fit sometime soonish....

If anyone in the northern parts of syd wants me to do theirs let me know...

if yr in south syd, let me know anyway just give me a chance to find time to get down there.

I didn't want to cut my coloured plate..so I just bought some long threaded bolts and some washers to mount it in front of the bumpers. Have to tighten it occasionally but it's still intact, and no bending / cutting required.

I read in a previous post that BD4s sells a mounting kit for the Aussie plates?
