Hills Cruise on Sat 14th Sept

Recommended Posts

Well it seems as if there is some interest, so here is my proposal.

If the weather turns bad we will postpone till another day.

Meet at Pelican Plaza(cnr Golden Grove Rd & North East Rd where

Hungry Jacks is) at 1:00 to 1:30pm. Leave at 2:00pm approx.

Cruise up North East Rd through Chain of Ponds then veer left to

Kersbrook.Head to Williamstown(good bakery there) then right to

Birdwood.Stop on the main rd at Birdwood to stretch legs & bunch

up, then continue up to Tungkillo turnoff.Turn right & fang up through the Gum trees then turn right before Tungkillo & head up to Mt. Torrens,Woodside,Nairne, then on to the Freeway at Mt. Barker. Hoon back to town(all at legal speeds of course)& stop at

the Mt. Lofty summit car park for coffees, photos etc.

This is only a rough proposal, so please comment if it's too long or whatever. the biggest problem with group cruises is that the second half get left behind, so I would like to organise several pullover points where the tailenders pass the leaders and take the front. This way everyone can see everyone elses cars & we can stay together. But - if you like cruising at 60kays all day with your arm hanging out the window, this is not the cruise for you.

If it looks like a goer, I will organise proper directions printed up.

Suggestions? Of course any model car is welcome.

:burnout:

Yeah I know, It would be easier to do it earlier in the day.

Sometimes there is a lot more traffic around before lunchtime though. After lunch it seems to clear up a bit.

Suppose we could do shifts - a morning cruise for the early birds,

then the same lap( for those that like to sleep in) in the afternoon. Joking - ha ha.

Could ask the cops to close the whole area off for us for the day!

Hmmm, one way to Birdwood - that would be fun.Wishful thinking!

:)

I`m going to try and get a leave pass from Mrs Bugalugs for this one as Bugalugs Jr should be here by then(any time now).

John-I think Pelican plaza car park may be a bit small/packed with ppl at that time of day(not sure dont live up that way).Maybe kmart ingle farm in the corner near auto centre. The rest sounds good for everyone as there is alot of straight line stuff for the ppl that dont like corners(whatsisname:shake: ) aswell as the mighty Chain of Ponds Rd for me:D

Matt

I cant see why it has to be only Skylines.

This is only a casual cruise for whoever wants to come.

I agree that there will be more room at Kmart Ingle farm -

good call Matt. Hope you can come out for the day.

Congratulations on the pending new arrival!Hope all goes well.

Regards,

Munro.

PS. Who's going on this Victor cruise tomorrow?

Hi Munro,

Nice GTR you got! I was the guy driving my son's overcast blue Silvia SR20DET, and left the R33 4door home due to son's friend not come on the Victor cruise.

The black M3 Beemer driver is a bit of a worry!!!

I'm coming in my white R33 4door this Saturday cruise to give it a run to see how good it is with more boost done by TILBROOK, and is it definitely Pelican Plaza carpark or is it changed to Ingle Farm???

Seeya there

Graham:D

Hi everyone,

Confirm - meeting at 1.00pm Sat 14th at Ingle Farm Shopping center near Kmart Auto centre on Montague Rd.

I don't know how many are coming yet but I can print directions if

we need them. The LS1 guys were going to cruise on Sunday so

why dont we invite them to this cruise.

I will have to thoughly clean the R34 'cause it got filthy last Sunday going to Victor Harbour. Those boys know how to cruise!!

:flower:

PS. Can someone bring a digital camera?

I will almost certainly be there /unless the wife cracks the ****s *again*

If so, I will most certainly have my digi camera that burns straight onto 200Mb mini-CDRW disks .... it holds a LOT of photos!

And it takes 15 second videos for deep conversations .... and burnouts *coff* :)

Hope we are gonna have a good turnout .... looks like the weather will be awesome (if not a tad hot) .... fyi I will be taking it VERY easy since my run-in with the fuzz :( .... so John and Robert don't try to razz me and get me to race :D *soooooo hard to do :) *

    • Nope, but they are definitely one of the default choices. Well established.
    • Has anyone used > https://performancecoating.com.au/
    • Haha actually I did join back then under a different email address,  I couldn't re-activate my account so made a new one! I didn't post much anyway so not missing out on much. Amazing to see how the value of the cars and parts has changed over the years, also ACT section appears to be dead now.
    • Thanks... It's in pretty good condition overall, probably due to not being drifted/tuned however being a daily driver has taken its toll. Had 100k on the clock when I got it, up to 180k now. Unfortunately it's not 100% dent free, it's got a small dent on FLH side and broken indicator from where I hit a small kangaroo at high speed. If you look at closely at pic #5 you might spot the dodgy trailer light repair my old man and I rigged up as temporary repair! - It's still there due to a combo of needing the car as daily driver and then too lazy/busy to fix properly. I've a couple of other minor accidents accidents as well but nothing major. One required a new front bar and unfortunately the smash repairer ordered the normal gtst one and not the aero bar. Needed the car back asap so just went with it, regretted ever since.
    • I can't believe that anyone is foolish enough to believe that the base maps are for any other purpose than to drive the car up onto the trailer/truck or gently creep it to the dyno. No matter how good they are, they can never be any better than the factory maps**, and only the foolish trust those on a significantly modified setup. **Yeah, yeah. I know there's also the difference between factory maps being fixed to certain injector sizes and MAP/AFM/VE relationships, and the likely aftermarket ECU base maps being better able to handle the sorts of changes that would render a stock ECU dangerous, like different sized injectors. But let's just ignore that for the moment, because the principle is still the same.
