I'm chasing a quieter exhaust for my 33GTR. The one on it currently drones it's ass off and is loud on open throttle. It's a 4' inch from cat back, not quite sure how big from the dumps though. The car is running 1.2bar and pushing 340kw atw. I am interested in what people are using or what they have done to there current exhausts to make it quieter. I really want quiet as possible without disturbing flow capacity of course, and a silencer isn't an option.

Happy to spend up to 1500 for one.

Cheers.

so do you not want it to be loud even when on full boost?

my exhaust includes:

standard dumps

blitz nur spec front pipes

decat

tanabe cat-back (just one end muffler)

car has -5's still running standard boost and is pretty quiet below 3grand, then when you put your foot down it really starts to scream, sounds awesome imo.

ok, that sounds simple enough. If I just tell the muffler shop exactly what you said, are they going to know what I want or are they going to ask me more questions that I wont have any idea in answering. I'm not real fussed on it being lighter then air or being a japa exhaust, I just want it quiet through the rev range. You sound like you ahve done this, what has it costed you??

Thanks for your help.

As lot more than $1500 that's for sure :geek:

But it comes down to mufflers and labour costs. If any exhaust shop doesnt know what you are talking about then go somewhere else.

As honestly if they cant workout the biggest two mufflers and some welding, they shouldnt be in business.

If you are including a 4"-4.5" CAT as well then it wont leave you much room to move in $1500 IMO. It'll perhaps go a bit over.

Depends on the muffler cost really, and 4"+ CAT's aint cheap either depsite what EBAY might tell you

Ok, I was talking to a muffler shop today and there rates were quite reasonable I thought. See what they have to say about this idea in terms of cost. But I wont stay with the 4" I will just go to 3.5" like you mentioned.

Cheers.

Just ensure the mufflers are straight through, if they have kinks it will impead flow.

But any decent exhaust place will know this if you stress it to them (never hurts to check for yourself of course) :geek:
