R33 Tail Lights/dash Backlight Dead Issue, Help?

Hey,

Just put a new stereo in my r33, now the backlight for the dash doesn't go & my taillights don't go (brake lights fine..),

Have checked every single fuse many times, bulbs are fine.., any ideas?

Had the same problem when I fitted a stereo to my old R33, The black wire in the factory loom is not earth, it is the dimmer switch wire for illumination, if your head unit has illumination control it should be connected to this wire. Earth wire for the stereo should just go to the body, I put mine on one of the bolts holding down the rubber boot over the shifter.
