6 Weeks For Vehicle Identification Check (viiu) Booking

Hi all,

Today I attended RTA to register my written-off vehicle. Apparently I should go through vehicle identification inspection by one of VIIU stations. The earliest booking schedule RTA offers is like 6 weeks (WTF?!) !!!

Now I have two questions for ya:

1- What can I do to minimise this frustrating waiting period?

2- Could I have booked my VIIU booking in the first place so now that the car is repaired I was a little bit ahead time-wise?

They use to give interim rego in cases where the inspection was over a certain time away

I called RTA, they said they won't issue interim label for written-off vehicles. And also they cannot book your identification inspection until you finish blue/green slip paperwork first.
