My brother's mate's cousin said he saw a stagea like ours with a full exhaust and it had less power. I'd rather take his story than believe people who own the cars and have actually done the work :D

Hah! That's GOLD. Why is it that everyone believes the crap they "hear at the pub" over, well, the TRUTH!

For me I am getting it purely to lengthen the life of my turbo.. Don't care bout economy/power increase.. I'm much more worried boutthe cost when the turbo blows.. Which will come just hopefully not too soon!!! I say for $400 odd dollars it's a good investment over that under-engineered piece of crap Nissan call a dump pipe!!

for me it was such a discernable difference that when i drove away from the exhaust shop.. i could feel it on the first hill exiting the driveway.. gets on boost alot earlier and the torque was heaps better off boost also. what amazed me was the fuel difference.. someone said its not going to get 6l per 100.. well its pretty damn close.. its going to get 8-9 with the dump and cooler mod ive found...(against 12+ without) again depending on how you drive at the time. but i noticed a huge improvement on fuel economy. (almost a quarter of a tank difference over a week just crusing up the hwy).

is the economy due to the fact your turbo is laggier and youre not on boost as much as you would have been therefore not using as much fuel?

i found that with my SR20s with larger turbos. The car drove quite well off boost due to being in traffic/cruising mostly. on boost was another matter :P

Andy and Dale are right on the money

Couldn't agree more.

I think I will....... go........ with those who........ know. And that's why I joined this forum

How many hours ( approx)to do this by an exhaust shop ( I presume would be the best option) as I cant do this.

I think mine charged me for 3.5 hrs.

lol!!!!!!!!

As a person who has probably done everything other than an E85 conversion to get the most out of turbo that choses not to work with the car but should work with the car and probably would with any other car!!!!.....but this car is "NOT THE SAME AS MOST CARS" so it doesn't....yet!

Order of noticeable improvements

1. THE F$#KING DUMP!!!!!!!

2. A good air filter

3. The Exhaust

4. FMIC

5. Turbo

6. ECU upgrade or piggyback + Injectors +runner spacer + Fuel pump + suction pipe(good luck with this one as there are only a couple of people that can do the ECU properly)

Order of improvements for the summer weather

1. THE F$#KING DUMP!!!!!!!

2. FMIC

3. Phenolic runner spacer

4. Nismo thermostat

Sorry if I have offended people but.........oh f#$k it! If you don't believe us do your own thing!.....maybe shoot Gale Banks an email and ask him about the VQ25DET!

Will start collecting when they are almost complete. probably when we send them off to get ceramic coated.

I'm just waiting on my mate to get some time so we can get started. i'll go sort out the flanges to get laser cut soon.

They will charge you through the arse for it, but they shouldn't.

It is tricky, but if a couple of non-professionals can take the dump off in about 2-2.5hrs without a hoist, I am sure a pro could get it done in under 2hrs.

(and no, it is definitely NOT an engine out deal - I think I forgot to answer that q in your pm, sorry)

Well said Craig, f##ks me why people want to keep re-inventing the wheel...

Why believe anyone who's done EXACTLY what you're gonna do? What would they know anyway?

Dale, you definitely do NOT want to do exactly what Craig has done, mate.

yup i can confirm the dump install is a bitch of a job. but with the right tools and getting the car high enough youll be fine.

just gotta drop the rear of the transmission down to get access to the top bolt of the dump. long extension, uni joint and plenty of torque will do it no problems at all!

You make it sound so easy when you put it like that :)

Not sure if I put my hand up in this thread yet or not, but I need to get rid of my pesky dump-cat too :) I'll probs attempt to install it with a mate using a hoist, key word perhaps being 'attempt' :)

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 馃槈. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 馃槏.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 馃檹 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 馃槈. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 馃槏 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
