what do you think off it..

I havnt read any of the comments in this thread and i cbf. My simple answer is don't buy an R32, they are getting too old now. Maybe an R33 that has been taken care of properly in stock condition or even an R34.

But one thing is for sure, whatever you are looking at buying, make sure you take your time, test-drive a fair few so you know how they perform and IF you do buy one, to save yourself some potential heartache, get a mechanic to put it on a hoist and check out every nook and cranny for possible shoddy work, rust, damage etc.

Looks like you are not after performance.

May I suggest V35 sedan? They are non-turbo, auto (don't get a CVT 8 speed as they are very troublesome to fix if broken), quite new and comfy.

thank Victor, I'll look into v35

I saw a Sedan, low km, CVT-8 but.. only $14,999 2003

If you are not going to go manual get one like that.

Or even the Stagea (same engine i think, same dash but wagon)....

Edit: was on car sales

yes i been on car sales and seen a lot off them for a very low price with low km..have call up for test drive a few, think V series it what i want now ......

15k inc all expenses is budget.

R32 are old now and its harder to find one in good condition, same applies to R33 and R34. Lets face they are performance cars made to be driven hard all of which can be nearly 20 years old. Always get it inspected!!! Full RAA Inspection or if you know any mechanics. Raa inspection will give way for u to haggle more if their are issues with the car. If you have a mate owns a skyline get him drive it too.

Buying from a dealer.... hmmms, BE VERY CAUTIOUS as dealers will mask problems in their car they will do absolutely everything to make it look crisps ( i use to work for few dealers doing car detailing). they paint the steering wheel blk making it look newer than it is etc. All cars from dealers have 6months warranty however they will prob and try sell u extended warranty which is CRAP do not get it! they make it sound good n all but end of the day they do not cover sh*T. Dealers will do anything to get da $ of you but when comes to probs with car they generally don't wanna know about it. Then again, depends on the dealer. I personally wouldn't buy from dealer...

In regards to insurance.. depending on your age and rating you can expect for full comp from 1-3k or third part inc fire n theft round a few hundred. Do remember there will be other expenses such as stamp duty, name transfer, rego which is $$$

Auto or Manual: Its really what you want, but in my opinion go Manual. Why..? better feel for your car, you have more control and response and more power as compared to an limited auto. Manual is easy to learn. Also when selling ya car in the future, the market demands for manual skylines is more than an auto.

You'd be looking around maybe under 12-13k for your car and remaining for expenses. Take your time and choose carefully, its exciting buying a car but can be disappointing if you rush into something and not happy with it. Get it inspected cost around $100 or so. And haggle too lol of course no low balling. Carsales be a good start. If you looking buy interstate which can be cheaper it cost around $400 to have it delivered via truck inc. insurance to SA depot takes 5 working days. Make sure its registered though or you be going over pits for road worthy inspection. If reg already, they do only a vin check (been there done that)

and one more thing, coming from celica to skyline is a giant power different... so drive safe.

Hope my info helps =)
