RB20 Silvia

Hey all, kinda new to the skylines scene.

Anyway, I have just finished a rb20det silvia conversion. To be honest I dont really know much about the RB engines. I am aiming to get ~200rwkw mark. The main "performance" mods I have alrady had done are:

-T4/3 Hybrid Turbo

-3" Turbo Back Exhaust

-POD with cold air

Not much i know, but anyway. I will be doing a few more mods and wondering if this sounds good to all you rb20 heads out there.

-fmic (hybird or gtr)

-gtr fuel pump

-injectors (not sure which ones, whats a good set that will fit straight in? the gtr type have difference impedence, well thats what i was told)

-ecu re-map/re-program (can this be done, is a daughterboard necessary, or is an aftermarket type the best thing to do)

I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible eg standard gtr part instead of jap brand parts etc.

s4-5 13b turbo injectors just need the plugs changed. Fit straight into fuel rail, and are 550cc. Many people have got 200rwkw without changing injectors though

standard rb20 injectors are good for around 210kw but change em to be safe i guess.

Have a question for you. What year is your RB20? and dose it say RB20 on the cam gear cover? just tryin to figure out what year I have. Mine dosen't say RB20 on the cam cover but a friend has one and his says RB20 on it.

should get 200rwkw easy depending on the highflow, but with fuel pump, tune, cooler etc you'll make it

I assume you had the SR20DET in you silvia before? If not I would definitely recommend upgrading that fuel pump asap with the T3/T4 on there. I am on my third RB20 S body swap now (bought my new motor yesterday), and there is a good chance your fuel pump might not be up to snuff. We are running JIC 3" turbo back (no cat, custom DP/FP) exhaust, stock SMIC, and intake on my buddies S14 (my second swap) and he was starting to run lean beyond 4k rpm. I picked up some of those S5 TII RX7 injectors (S5 are 550cc high imp) and will be shipping them to him soon to help out that problem. He has a SAFCII to cut them back since he is only pushing the stock turbo at 13psi, which is high for the turbo but low for the injectors.

Did you do anything for your tach? I am going to try and put a potentiometer in where the stock resistor is for the signal with a 50-100k ohm range to try and fix the 4cyl's tach interpretation of the 6cyl signal. I will let you know how that goes if you want.
