Hey guys,

I have decided to sell the RB20DET.

Just did the conversion into the vl, Havent finished it yet but the motor is in and running. So yes you can hear running, however it is not driveable.

What you get is:

RB20DET complete motor

5 Speed Gearbox

RB20DET engine wiring loom (Ready to plug into a vl, turn the key and away you go)

RB20DET Ecu

Greddy E-Manage Blue piggy back ecu wired in also

The motor came out of a 1992 R32 GTS-t Skyline that I brought with front end damage, was going to fix it but decided to wreck. Has genuine 86,655 K's on the clock. Have the cluster for proof of this.

Engine runs extremely well and starts very easy. Had been sitting in the skyline which was in the back corner of a mechanics workshop for 8 to 10 years. Have old rego sticker which expired in 2001.

There is no noises, knocks or anything wrong with the motor.

Gearbox is fine aslo, No noises, crunches or grinding.

Motor has factory turbo, Vl alternator and starter motor. This is a complete package and will not seperate. All you need to bolt into your vl or whatever you want to do with it is an intercooler, maybe afm. I have a Q45 afm that will come with it.

Can here running before I pull it out. Will require a deposit before the motor is removed. Sorry it cant be driven, but I insure you that there is not one thing wrong with the motor.

You can txt me on 0448 644 653

Email Me at [email protected]

Pick up is in Mansfield, VIC.

May be able to drop it off for a fee and depends where you are.

Will also ship, However it will cost a fair bit due to wieght and size..

Price is $2,200 ono

Contact me with any questions you have and I will get back to you asap. And try to answer them as best as I can.

Have described it the best I could. Will get a couple of photo's up later today, when I take some.

Check my trader rating, There is nothing dodgey or anything going on here! I'm not a time waster and will not tolerate other people wasting my time.

Forgot to add it has VL Power steering pump also. And the K's are 86,220 not 86,655

I Have just taken photo's and they will be up shortly.

I should also add that it is a silver top Rb20det, with the rocker covers painted in Alpine White. I was going to use some Chameleon flake in the clear over the top for a ghost effect. Can still do it if buyer wishes me to do so. The one that I have got goes from Gold, Red to Violet

I am a little negotiable on the price

    • Update: I got the magnet out. I bought 3 different flexible magnetic reach tools, but none of them worked. The magnet on the tip was all less than 2lbs of force, so i had to buy a special cylindrical magnet that had a pull force of 9lbs.  The magnet finally came in the mail yesterday, so i got under the car to get to work. The super strong magnet isn't that long, so i only have about 1 finger pinch lengths to hold it. I was so scared when i was going in the hole, that the 9lb magnet would just fly away inside the oil pan never to be seen again, but i had my butt cheeks clenched and finger gripped on that thing so tight, i managed to get it to suck the other magnet out.  It was a victory for me last night.
    • Yep, pretty much what you said is a good summary. The aftermarket thing just attached to the rim, then has two lines out to valve stems, one to inner wheel, one to outer wheel. Some of the systems even start to air up as you head towards highway speed. IE, you're in the logging tracks, then as speeds increase it knows you're on tarmac and airs up so the driver doesn't even have to remember. I bet the ones that need driver intervention to air up end up seeing a lot more tyre wear from "forest pressures" in use on the highway!
    • Yes, but you need to do these type certifications for tuning parts. That is the absurd part here. Meaning tuning parts are very costly (generally speaking) as well as the technical test documentation for say a turbo swap with more power. It just makes modifying everything crazy expensive and complicated. That bracket has been lost in translation many years ago I assume, it was not there.
    • Hahaha, yeah.... not what you'd call a tamper-proof design.... but yes, with the truck setup, the lines are always connected, but typically they sit just inside the plane of the rear metal mudguards, so if you clear the guards you clear the lines as well. Not rogue 4WD tracks with tree branches and bushes everywhere, ready to hook-up an air hose. You can do it externally like a mod, but dedicated setups air-pressurize the undriven hubs, and on driven axles you can do the same thing, or pressurize the axles (lots of designs out there for this idea)... https://www.trtaustralia.com.au/traction-air-cti-system/  for example.... ..the trouble I've got here... wrt the bimmer ad... is the last bit...they don't want to show it spinning, do they.... give all the illusion that things are moving...but no...and what the hell tyre profile is that?...25??? ...far kernel, rims would be dead inside 10klms on most roads around here.... 😃
    • You're just describing how type certification works. Personally I would be shocked to discover that catalytic converter is not in the stock mounting position. Is there a bracket on the transfer case holding the catalytic converter and front pipe together? If so, it should be in stock position.
