Hi everyone. Ive come accross an R34 GTR ECU that has a gold mines guarentee plaque on it with a serial number on it 00544. Im not very clued up on this sorta stuff. Do all the stock ecu's have this? Or is this something non factory? just curious

retuned ecu in japan by Mines...... rare(ish) and worth some dollar$

best to get the gtr on a dyno to see whats being altered by the remaped ecu re: air/fuel mixtures

remember jap fuel is a higher RON rating than aussie fuel, she's been retuned, so you'll need to check out whats happening there... could run lean on high boost with aus fuel in the heat of summer.

It will most likely have higher RPM limiter, 180kph limiter removed and as Brendan has said modified air/fuel values.

The good advice is get it on the dyno, stat.

i would say not worth a box of biscuits unless it's still attached to the car it was tuned for and even then it'll cause headaches.

You can't tune it, so you can't change your cars setup basically and you won't be able to use it in another car or you're asking for massive trouble.

i'm assuming it's a VX rom, but good luck being able to find someone who can do anything with it - you're most likely c) lock it in eddie

Maybe something to take along with me when I dyno my new toy! I could plug it in and see what happens.

If it didn't come with your car I'd think twice before doing that.

I had one that came with the car, was not that good in terms of tune and I did sell it to a person with similar mods for a cheap price

While the tune *may* be fine for your car it might not be, I have not heard of someone having an issue with a MINES ECU but I would be testing it carefully on the dyno...
