Hi everyone,

Im looking for some feedback please.

I have spent a fair bit of time cleaning up my website, esp the wedding page.

This is what it looks like now: http://sidd-rishi.com.au/index.php?x=wedding

I added a sample gallery at the bottom of the text (to show case highlights from the weddings). Right now just got a few photos, but how many photos max do you reckon i should put there? 30? 40? is that too much? Will people rather go to the gallery page and view all the weddings?? Looking for these sorts of feedback please.

Next step is to make the gallery page a bit more professional. Is it lacking something? What do you think? Or can i leave it as is? But then say in 2 years time, people will have to keep scrolling!! Thinking long term also.

http://sidd-rishi.com.au/index.php?x=gallery

Any suggestions please?

Hopefully in a weeks time i can get van (member on here) to design me a logo.

But for now want to get my website up to scratch.

One last thing is the website slow to load?

Thank you so much for the feedback.

Looks SH!T!!! Hahaha only kidding man hahaha, i amused myself a lot with that...

Looks nice! Looks like general wordpress font in italics :D Hahaha.

Nice! Simpleviewer is that what the photo display down the bottom is? Looks like it. Would it be possible to have it display as a slideshow, WITHOUT displaying the pics down the bottom? So a flash slideshow kind of?

You got rid of the two links there (saw it on boostcruising the guy that commented or JDMST cant remember so I see you’ve removed them) so i can't comment on them, but i saw them before and they looked alright, but you already have a packages menu in the nav bar.

In regards to your email about how to get a sidebar, just create a div and use padding/margin so you create a line on the left side to seperate. It will have to integrate OUTSIDE the div that has all the content. You will also have to put padding in on the right side of the content (i am assuming you want testimonials etc.. on the right side).

So just create a div called sidebar with 100% height and 100px etc... width with padding and add a margin.

So if your page is 800px wide, you will need to make the main content 700px and then the sidebar 100px to keep it proportional.

It is possible using CSS and XHTML coding just have to play around a bit ;)

Website doesn't load too slow, seems reasonable.

I would stick to around 20-25 photos of your BEST work. Put them all through photoshop again and resize them to the exact amount and edit the sh!t out of them. Think of it as a portfolio. That way you can use it for a portfolio page in the future if you want.

Also, i just realized about your packages. I would change them around so the first package was 6 hrs and the second was 8 hrs. Your ripping yourself off for the quality of work you and i know you can put out.

$150 every hour after also.

I'm still stumbling around when it comes to web design for a tog, I like the classy and simple look of your site. You're info is well laid out. The only 2 things I can pick straight away is I don't really like the massive font on the front page. To me, smaller looks nicer and more professional.

Also... I'd avoid flash as much as possible, especially since you're talking weddings.. who spends their time looking at weddings? Girls, girls lurrrrrrvvvveeeeee to surf on their shitty iclones. Just a thought.

I always advise against flash for websites, but 90% of wedding togs use flash for portfolio's etc... because they can play it with music. Strongly recommend against music on a website! If you MUST have a website with music, at least have controls so you can turn the sh!t off!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for that feedback!!

I had a design set in mind.. now just gotta think of how do it and when i can find some time. Im no web designer, so it will take some time.

But i appreciate the feedback guys. Have written down some notes (no joke)!!

Thanks all.

Sidd, one thing I noticed is in your slide-shows, when the descriptions come up (when you mouse-over each photo), you should try and use full sentences and proper grammar here wherever applicable. It will make your whole approach seem more professional. You can still keep it "fun," but people will see that you're dedicated to getting things right with the set-up of your website, and will trust that you will do the same with their photos if they hire you.

:P

(Then again, maybe it's just me being a stickler for proper use of the English language - I hate that txt and sms language is taking over the minds of people who should know better, especially teachers at schools.) :P

Checked it this morning and it looks cleaner.

although why so much "dead space" between the paragraphs and the slideshow? Move it way up to underneath the text.

Make the text smaller also.

Put a page break at the top so that the paragraph doesn't start basically on top of the Nav bar.

And then it will look pimp

EDIT****: Make your blog open in a new tab! target=_blank. Although to make this valid in W3, you will need to do what i did. Let me know if you want the code for it.

Will try out that font. Cheers..

Also i don't understand how its so big?? Looks normal to me on my screen. Maybe its the resolution you are viewing it at?? But will reduce it slightly and see what it looks like.

No idea how to get rid of that dead space. I have been playing around with the code for ages and still no luck

Im assumming it could be something to do with the viewer. Maybe its got a border around it that i cant see. hmmm

Oh yes please if you can send me that code.

Thought you just do target = blank to open it up in a new page?

Im not sure if it's because I'm using Safari, but on the "Weddings" tab, the photo's that are coming up are all pushed over to the right? Half of the photo is missing in some cases. If that's of any help to you... I can see that the photo's all have a thin white border on them and its not on the right side of the photo so I'm assuming they're being cut off!

Seems to be working fine here... Running latest Safari on 10.6.4.

It could be that your not viewing the photos at full screen eiresgaus? Maximus the window and see if it still happens. It should go away.

Sidd - Just typing in "target=_blank" should still work.

The code if you want it to be validated is:

<a href="xxxxxxxxxxxx" onclick="window.open (this.href);return false;"><a/>

Hmm it's all normal now today from the same window that was open yesterday, odd. Looking at them now the photos were all moved over to the right and cut off where the right edge now is when it's working properly.. Wonder why that was.

Thanks for letting me know about that problem. I have fixed up the CSS Code. So it should all work perfectly now.

Thank you everyone for the feedback.

Atleast it looks a lot better than a week ago. Will leave it at that, and think of what to do for the gallery page.

Or might create some tabs and put all the wedding stuff onto one page. hmmm

Looks good from what I can see, sadly iPhone can't see the flash or anything, but that's cos Apple is fkn gay *shakes fist at Apple*

Hey man! Its not apples fault. I'm pretty sure you can't view flash on any phone?? That's why i steer away from flash. Although the slideshow on my blog is flash, but its just a banner head so not really important in my eyes. Phone users can suck it!

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
