I'm interested in a group buy but I want to see them first. I have looked at two similar units designed for the G25/G27 and they were horrible in terms of quality lots of flex and very bad seat.

Why the piece of wood to hold the wheel to the frame?

Frame doesn't look very strong

Not sure, think maybe that guy that made the review used the wood? Havn't really read it was just showinig people this as its only $319

Only reason you would use some wood like that is because the design was incorrect for the mounting of the wheel.

That $319 setup was available from Harvey Norman, I have sat in it and it was crap. Heaps of flex in the frame for the steering wheel and it really needs a cross brace to the bottom rail.

The price was also considerably cheaper at HN I think $199 without those additional speakers.
