hi all,

this is what i have got rb33 series 2 with new plugs new coils, return fmic, full 3 inch s/steel exhaust, running 12 psi with ecu tuned by toshi and and a gen walbro fuel pump. ( had car all serviced and radiator, water pump, fuel filter timing belt etc all replaced) now power is about 190 atw and i want about 260-270 atw

should i upgrade ecu, injectors, and turbo/hiflow my budget is 2-3 grand is this possible? any ideas would be helpful i would like your ideas no matter how little they may be thanks

GCG highflow is around 1700-1800. not sure bout hypergear. maybe get highflow and ecu and run on the limits of the AFM until you have the coin to get a Z32 and injectors as AFM will run out of legs before the injectors

For $2000-$3000 - No.

Injectors are $700-800, ECU + tune is at least $1500.

$2300 before you even start with the turbo, fitting, new dump etc. Then comes the clutch and everything else.

You need at least 5k realistically maybe more.

For 2~3 Grand you can get a GT3076R in the new nissan 6 bolt housing. (I think they were for $2300). Or get hypergear to do your high flow, they can make your stockie to pump 300rwkws+. Check their thread out.

Not one supporting mod listed there. What good is a turbo if you have no other parts to make use of it?

As i said - its a good 5k adventure.

Stock GTR 33 Series 1 with below mods.

- Exhaust (High Flow) $200

- PFC (Second hand) $950

- Cam Gears (by Racepace) $350

- Tune $600

With above mods, went from 194kW to 264.5kW

All for $2100.

Everything else on the car is stock (Turbo/Engine)...

I had a look at that, and was wondering how it fit, as as far as im aware, the GT30R needs a 10mm spacer to clear everything on an RB20/25 with a stock manifold.

How'd they get around that one?

Mine was a factory OP6 high flow, every thing bolted back the way it was. the 300rwkws+ high flow I referred to was the so called "pu high flow" which comes with a .82 OEM pattened turbine end. From photos all it needed was a oil feeding line like all their other high flows. It runs on factory comp housing so I guess spacer is not needed. Have a read in their thread, lots of information:

Whilst it makes 300rwkw, the power band is not that of say a GT30 which has a good 1000rpm extra to play with.

Horses for courses i guess and many factors one must consider when purchasing a turbo.

Yeah a turbo might make "X" power, but the real point is just how it makes that power. Is it responsive, how much RPM do you have to work with etc.

    • You see R34 GTRs listed for 200-300k are they really selling for these prices? Kinda seems like the same ones listed all the time.
    • Only needed to pull out the seats, center console and gear shifter surround, took a weekend and a fair few beers. You get to look forward to finding all sorts of weird shit under the seats and carpet, I pulled out a Chinese dudes passport from 2003, 220 yen and a condom wrapper 😆
    • Well, turns out not a lot happened from back then to now, between life again, and working on 3 separate other cars (only one of which was mine, and will now be departing the household soon).   So I decided with the whole "don't go outside, it's a cyclone!" Turning in to being not a whole lot, I ventured down to the garage, found a couple of water leaks in the shed (the main one I've already fixed), and then ended up "stuck" as it started pouring rain, and I didn't want to walk back inside in the pouring rain. This meant I ended up taking a look at the Skyline, and trying to work out what past Matt had been upto. I retraced a few things out from scratch, added the rest of the power feeds in that I needed for the indicators, and headlights. Double checked I'd wired a few things up correctly (and worked out how I wired a few things to begin with), updated my sparse notes. Added one of the ground points. Oh, and got really really dusty, as the car is quite dirty. Wrote up quickly what should be left for me to do with the wiring too. Adding the below photos more for my records than anything else. I need to make myself a proper book for the car that details everything, and how I've done it, but for now, this is my records... The third image is my most important one for me, and I need to draw it out into a proper schematic eventually. The last photo is my re-written list, I'd have put it on the white board, except I had to take the white board down to fix one of the water leaks.
