I would like to know if there is a market for ECU car tuning for any Jap import cars? I am trying to help a master tuner from overseas who normally specialise in hondata, but he also does the usual crowd like R34, R35, silvia, evo and wrx. What's your take on it?

It is a lucrative market in Australia, and doing it right can in return, provide a good source of income, employment and street credibility amongst the car scene.

But your question is vague..... how long is a piece of string??

Things like workshop location, condition of workshop, mechanical experience, testimonials of cars owners who have had their cars tuned by your friend etc etc and the fact that their are already dozens of tuning shops to choose from all come into play.

Don't expect to open a workshop in Rural Camden NSW and have loads of JDM cars turn up at your doorstep..

I don't own a performance workshop, nor do I tune cars, but I have a business and commerce degree so it's a principle that can be applied to any start up business, including an ECU tuning shop.

Yes it is Lucrative, but to what degree??? depends on who you ask and what your goals are
