Just use a layer mask and crank up the blacks to see if there is any detail there. If there is any detail in the sky, just do a single HDR of the sky and mask it in.

Or you could use a gradient. Up to you lol.

I like both photos, i think the 2nd photo a CPL could of really helped. Or an ND even and a longer exposure. Keep it up mate, all about practice!

P.S. Matt - I do have steady hands but thats not the reason i turn it off ;)

No worry John, they're good shots, they show something different to what people see when they stroll around and thats good. you've got an eye for a shot, that's the hard bit. now you just need to do the easy (but long) part, practice, and learn as much as you can about ur gear and shots. Learning will give you more options and help open your eyes to some the possibilitiles that a shot could form.

If you don't take multiple exposures but your shooting raw you can open the file, increase or decrease the exposure, re save it as e.g. file0001_LOW or file0001_High.You can merge these multiples later. This will only work well if what you're trying to capture isn't to far off your shot i.e. way to dark, way to bright.

Kory - WOW. That looks amazing!

I had a quick play with a few of the photos when we stuck the gopro in auto on the side of Nick's car. Had a little play with cropping and some color adjustments. Obviously no substitute for the kind of stuff you & Matt are doing, but not a bad result from a $300 rig.

Thanks Eric :ermm: Matt got some sweeeet shots as well, i donno when he will post up, but check the shot on his flickr. I'd link it, but that would be copyright, right? Haha.

I reckon that is sweet, from a dedicated video camera, especially a go-pro. Did you sort through the audio? Haha. Looking forward to the BTS video if you create one :huh:

Oh and Falcon - So jealous of NY. Would love to go there one day, i could spend years taking photos there!

Sorry Maikul, I've been to busy of late to look for you. I'll have squiz through the week when I can.

Sexy shot Kory, I think the Gopro beats it down though :ermm: I wonder if Pez has run through the audio yet? :huh:

Hehe, yeah boys I went through the audio although it is a bit hard to hear over Nick's exhaust note. I know I'm a pain and always get in the shot - lol!

I wish you could set the exposure a bit more on the GoPro. It always tries to just shoot as fast as it can so it misses out on all that lovely motion blur unless you're going pretty fast.

What about if you grabbed a frame from the video not the actual photo it takes every 2 seconds? That would have the wheels spinning etc... wouldn't it?

And yep - The Go pro definitely smokes my results. I wasted all my money on photography gear, i coulda just bought a gopro!

      To clarify, I meant nismo bushes, not control arms (don't even think that's a thing for my car). So the suspension specialist said, if I buy those nismo bushes which are perfectly centered it will cause my car to veer in one direction. Whereas he said the current offset bushes that I have were put in on purpose to fix that issue. This will be my third wheel alignment if I put these bushes in lol. My chassis is straight, all my rails are clean.

      OK, well, in that case, the suspension specialist is either a moron, or you aren't understanding what he was trying to tell you. Nismo arms are not really different than stock arms. Both are fixed geometry. I don't know if the Nismo ones are a little shorter than the stockers (or perhaps even a little longer) or the same length, but....if you swap from stock to Nismo, whatever happens to one side will happen to the other side. It will not cause it to steer left or right. That is unless you have adjustable bushes in your stockers, and they happen to be adjusted to dial out some bent chassis shenanigans. But, if that were the case, you'd just put adjustables in the Nismo arms anyway, because Nismo arms are essentially just expensive stock arms. And doing a wheel alignment is just a weekly thing in my world. I have had the suspension apart so many times this year that I've lost count and just about worn out a torque wrench. I'm out in the shed right now cutting up some alloy section and making bases for my new stringline setup. Got to make new swivel plates next, then I'm good to do toe properly, as well as camber and bump steer.

      Yeah, nah. Not a thing. The gasket between the top of the plenum and the runners is far more likely to blow out when it gets old, and not really at ~14 psi. These things have been run to double that for 30 years without that being a common thing.

      I plan to pull the intake manifold off and check the gaskets, i read that the block to manifold gasket can blow over 14psi and when i picked up the car it was set to 1.2bar on the controller. Send the injectors out for cleaning. Ill also pull the cam covers off and do an inspection, check some valve lash. Someone also said that the timing belt can rub or vibrate against the belt cover and make that sound. Definitely need to get an AFR gauge on it, if it was lean idling im sure it wont be happy
