Hey all,

If i've got a full 3" tbe system and need to replace the rear muffler from 3" inlet cannon to 2.5" inlet cannon, will this affect performance? and if it does how much?

Reason is car is a lil loud so getting an exhaust will silencer for times when i need it quieter.

Thanks!

Put a middle muffler in, it would then be under 90dB provided the rear muffler is decent enough.

That's legal in all states far as i know.

And yes, dropping to a 2.5" could potentially cause performance loss.

How much - impossible to say. Would depend on the rest of the cars mods etc

oval shaped are meant to be quieter than cannons. ive had 3inch in/out on with only cat until recently and its quiet

define "quiet" in terms of dB.

What one man calls quiet, another calls ridiculously loud.

89/90dB is the legal limit, most people can at least reference off that :(

lukey turbo muffler with good cat and i would guess around 85 as it wasnt loud unless slamming back gears when slowing down. no where near others. had the car inspected once by a cop on the gold coast who was determined to get me for something and they didnt say anything about it

I just got rid of my 2.75inch system with cannon and resi that had a nice note but was pretty loud and very droney

I now have a good 3.5inch system and its much quieter...go figure..
